WWWY Fest 2023: Interviews with Something Corporate, Yellowcard, and More!

The day has come for you to see the various interviews we got at When We Were Young Fest last weekend. Getting to chat with our favorite bands and artists was a dream come true and we are still pinching ourselves that it happened.

So without further ado, here are the THP x WWWYF Interviews!

Something Corporate

As one of our must-see bands this festival weekend, speaking with Something Corporate was an absolute dream. Although they may have joked that they were too silly to do press together, we had the best time just watching them interact together during our interview.

Yellowcard

Sean Mackin from Yellowcard was an absolute joy to just sit and listen to. We felt so comfortable talking with him about future Yellowcard plans and how it was being on the WWWY Fest stage over the weekend. This interview only made us fall even more in love with Yellowcard and we know it will for you too!

Cassadee Pope

Alright, you already know that we were freaking out when we got word that we were going to chat with the Cassadee Pope. She’s coming back to the pop-punk scene and as major Hey Monday stans, we are so so happy. Not only did she hop up on stage with Yellowcard and Michelle Branch, but we also got to see her perform a set at the Strange 80s show the night before.

Broken Promises

Broken Promises is a lifestyle brand that has now sponsored WWWY Fest for the second year in a row. It was an honor to get to chat with them at the fest next to their activation site. This year they had a professional mobile studio with six stations, where fans could get a tattoo (real or temporary) and piercings from a curated Broken Promises flash sheet.

The founders, Mandee Bence and Jason Blake, are some of the kindest, most generous, people that we met at the fest. You would never be able to tell that they were sponsoring the entire fest with their demeanor. It was a true honor to get to speak to them and we are stoked about our Offsping and Sum 41 exclusive merch that we got at their booth.

Bowling For Soup

Sitting down with Jaret from Bowling for Soup was a dream come true! Growing up with this Texas band and getting to experience their live show in a club setting and a festival setting was a full-circle moment for us! We got to learn a bit more about the current tour they are on, Getting Old Sux, and what it’s like getting to play WWWY Fest with their long-time friends!
