Just when you thought LUCY couldn’t surprise us even more, here they come. For Christmas this year, LUCY released a single album that doesn’t take the usual seasonal spin we’re used to. And we’re honestly obsessed with it. With every single release, LUCY continue to blow us away, and now they just released the new soundtrack to our Christmas.
‘Boogie Man’
The moment LUCY announced the name of their new title track, we knew it would be special and unique in a way only LUCY can make a song. ‘Boogie Man’ is unlike any of LUCY’s songs, yet it is exactly what you would expect from them with this concept. And honestly, no one could do it like them.
The theatrical atmosphere they manage to build with the instrumentals, the unique melodies, and the vocals is simply out of this world. This is precisely why we love LUCY so much. The mixture of rock with the violin never fails, but this might be one of their best bridges ever – Yechan went hard with that one. ‘Boogie Man’ is the perfect song for in between the spooky season and Christmas – and we’re simply obsessed.
‘Over The Christmas’
Along with ‘Boogie Man,’ LUCY released a more traditional Christmas song to accompany us during this season: ‘Over The Christmas.’ This b-side feels comforting, cozy, joyful, and perfect for the season. After just one listen, you feel like you can see the snow falling through your window and the lights lighting up the street.
The violin, yet again, adds something really special and magical. And it really has to go down as one of their most enchanting songs ever. LUCY truly nailed the Christmas vibe; it seems wild to think this is their first song expressly about Christmas. LUCY simply know how to make a song for all of our moods. If you’re looking for a song to loop on end during this Christmas, look no further: this is the one.
