K-Pop has songs for every single occasion, and one of our favorite sub-genres in K-Pop is songs that feel like winter. These songs will keep you warm and comfortable during this season. They will bring you peace and comfort and will be your best companions. Here are some of our favorites in no particular order!
‘Sparkling Night’ by PENTAGON
First on our list is one of Pentagon’s best songs in our eyes. ‘Sparkling Night’ is a b-side in the perfect mini-album they released in January 2022, IN:VITE U. It’s a nostalgic song by definition: it feels comforting with its melody, but it is equally heartbreaking at the same time. Using the metaphor of life as a Ferris wheel ride, ‘Sparkling Night’ is perfect for winter. The feeling, the emotion, everything is there. Everyone deserves this masterpiece in their life.
‘Winter’ by Handong of Dreamcatcher
Dreamcatcher released a solo song for each member in their second full-length album. And ‘Winter’ is Handong’s song. Of course, the title gives it all away; this song’s concept is winter. There’s something about the melody and her beautiful voice that create a truly unique atmosphere. ‘Winter’ is a beautiful ballad that feels warm, heartbreaking, and magical all at the same time.
‘Winter Falls’ by Stray Kids
At the end of 2021, Stray Kids surprised us with a special single album released for Christmas. In this single album, they released three very wintery and Christmas songs – and each one of those could easily be added to this list. However, while ‘Christmas EveL’ and ’24 to 25’ are Christmas songs, ‘Winter Falls’ isn’t. This song written by Han may be sad, but it also has the perfect winter vibe. The guitar, the melody, the lyrics… We can hardly think of better K-Pop songs to have on loop in winter.
‘Forever’ by aespa
‘Forever’ by aespa was their first release after their debut, and it was so different yet so good. The winter vibes are all over this slow song, which truly focuses on their soft and powerful vocals. Because yes, aespa has powerful songs, but they have this other, softer side to them. It was nice to see this new side after their iconic debut. ‘Forever‘ is sweet, bright, and simply such a nice song to listen to and to bring some magic into your life.
‘Christmassy!’ by The Boyz
As you may or may not know, The Boyz debuted on December 6th, 2017. And since 2019, they made it a tradition to release a song as a special gift to fans every year for their anniversary. You might have guessed it, but all of these songs are very Christmas and winter coded – it fits. ‘Christmassy!’ has to be our favorite though. It’s fun, bright – and the unserious music video they filmed with a phone makes it all ten times better. Winter isn’t always just about calm ballads, it can also be about fun.
‘Doughnut’ by TWICE
Next on our list is one of our favorites of Twice’s Japanese releases: ‘Doughnut.’ Twice might be known for their energetic and fun songs, but that’s not all they do. ‘Doughnut’ is soft, vibey, magical, and so addictive to listen to. The song builds an atmosphere perfect for winter and showcases the beauty of their vocals as well. ‘Doughnut’ is a true gem in Twice’s discography.
‘Stove’ by LUCY
It’s hard to pick only one song from all the ones that LUCY has released. Something about the violin, their melodies, and Sangyeop’s voice make their slower songs so fitting for the season. Their entire BLUE mini-album is perfect for winter. However, we’re here to talk about another song: ‘Stove.’ Because it’s not only the melody, the production, but especially the lyrics that give hope that winter will eventually end to give way for better things. This can be a hard season for some, and LUCY’s ‘Stove’ is especially here for that.
‘HWAA’ by (G)I-DLE
We all know how absolutely all in (G)I-DLE goes when it comes to concept, and ‘HWAA’ is proof of it. Their entire mini-album could easily be considered the embodiment of a winter concept. The title track, ‘HWAA,’ feels tragic, grandiose, and cold. (G)I-DLE truly knows how to embody the feeling of cold and the frozen, and this makes ‘HWAA’ a perfect addition to your K-Pop winter songs.
‘Crystal Snow’ by BTS
There’s something about BTS’ Japanese songs that always hits harder – and ‘Crystal Snow’ is clear proof of it. It remains still, to this day, one of their strongest moments vocally. And we simply adore this song. Anytime winter comes around, ‘Crystal Snow’ is a must in our K-Pop Winter songs playlist. The atmosphere, the vocals, the lyrics, the emotion – everything about this is perfect.
‘STAY’ by BLACKPINK
We’re aware this one is not even slightly winter-coded, apart from the fact it was released right before winter, but hear us out. ‘STAY’ has that perfect cozy, warm feeling to it. BLACKPINK‘s soft vocals and the acoustic guitar all throughout the song create such a beautiful and comforting atmosphere. ‘STAY’ is a beautiful, hopeful, and warm-feeling song that fits perfectly this time of the year.
‘Sing Your Song’ by SHINee
SHINee has released multiple songs, especially for this time of year. ‘Sing Your Song’ isn’t exactly one of them, if we’re being honest, but it fits just as well the winter vibe. It’s bright, fun, and hopeful. It gives off that energy of unity and love. And they sound incredible, as always. Their voices and harmonies are on point, as always, but this song will also make you want to sing along. It’s impossible not to be happy while listening to ‘Sing Your Song.’
‘Winter Flower’ by Younha (ft. RM)
‘Winter Flower’ is a must-have in your K-Pop winter songs playlist. Younha has an absolutely gorgeous voice, and the power and emotion she puts into this ballad are just incredible. ‘Winter Flower’ is powerful and hopeful – and RM’s verse adds even more warmth to it. No words can describe just how beautiful this song is. ‘Winter Flower’ is a masterpiece you need to hear.
‘Universe’ by EXO
This is another group that has several songs that fit winter, especially with their Christmas-themed albums. And while we highly recommend each one of those songs, ‘Universe’ is the one we choose to include today. This is a beautiful ballad with a truly beautiful and satisfying melody that is only enhanced by EXO‘s incredible vocals. This might be one of their most beautiful songs.
‘ore ore’ by SOLE
If you’re looking for a fun, bright RnB song: ‘ore ore’ by SOLE is for you. Her unique soft voice makes this song so special and addictive. The entire vibes of this song are immaculate. It’s soft, sweet, and cozy, yet fun to sing along to. There are also some subtle jazz influences there that, mixed with the RnB feel, make it the perfect song for winter. It’s such a vibe.
‘I’ll Try’ by DAY6
‘I’ll Try’ is one of DAY6’s most beautiful songs, and that says a lot. This piano ballad is a masterpiece. DAY6 has incredible vocalists with very different and unique tones. ‘I’ll Try’ is the perfect example of how beautiful it is to hear them come together. Additionally, the lyrics are heartwarming and heartfelt, to say the least. The harmonization in acapella towards the end of the song feels like heaven, and the outro just makes it even better. DAY6 truly knows how to make a song that hits right where it should.
‘One Of These Nights’ by Red Velvet
Nothing better for a K-Pop winter songs playlist than a good Red Velvet ballad. These girls have one of the best vocals in the entire industry, and it makes their ballads even better and more special. ‘One Of These Nights’ is sad and almost feels tragic, but it also feels magical at the same time. As the production builds up, the song becomes better with every second that passes by.
‘If We’ by NU’EST
One of our favorite NU’EST b-sides has to be ‘If We,’ and it fits the winter vibes perfectly. The chorus on this one is absolute perfection – it’s raw, emotional, and everything you want in a good ballad that hits you in the feels. Everyone deserves to listen to this song at least once in their lives, and this is the perfect time of the year to do it. It makes it even better as the weather, and the mood fits it so well.
‘0g’ by fromis_9
Out of one of fromis_9’s best mini-albums, ‘0g’ gives the perfect winter vibes. For this comeback, fromis_9 took on a retro concept, and it also bled through their b-sides. ‘0g’ has the perfect vibes of a retro ballad – the production, the vocals. It’s vibey yet bright in its melody, and it makes it truly addictive. If you’re into more old-school ballads, this one is definitely for you.
‘Amusement Park’ by BAEKHYUN
Yes, we’ve already included an EXO song, but we still think it’s necessary to add a Baekhyun song. ‘Amusement Park’ showcases the emotional side of Baekhyun’s vocals with a slow RnB song. The entire instrumental of this song already makes us reminds us of the feeling of walking in the street with all the lights on, but his voice makes it even better – cozy, warm, and comforting.
‘Run With Me’ by SUNWOOJUNGA
This is technically not a K-Pop song per se, but it is such a gorgeous and perfect song for the winter that we had to include it. It is, however, quite impossible to explain just how beautiful this song is. ‘Run With Me’ is hauntingly beautiful, with those vocals out of this world and the immense emotion it gives off. If you don’t know this song, you’re missing out on something – we really mean it.
‘Call Me Anytime’ by ATEEZ, EDEN, MADDOX & Eden-ary
There’s nothing like a straight-up, very Christmassy song for the winter season! And even though we know Christmas and winter aren’t synonyms for every country, ‘Call Me Anytime’ still works no matter when you listen to it. ATEEZ teamed up with their producers to create a song that gives you nothing but complete and unfiltered happiness. It’s also beautiful to see everyone come together to create this amazing song. Truly heartwarming.
‘Snow’ by MOONBYUL
Last but definitely not least – Moonbyul’s ‘Snow.’ This song feels like she put the entire vibe of snow into one song. It has that cozy feel to it all while being extraordinarily nostalgic and bittersweet. Her voice sounds so pretty and soft, yet full of emotion. While it might be a sad song, it doesn’t necessarily feel like it. ‘Snow’ just makes you want to curl up in bed with a cup of hot chocolate, and honestly: when is better to do that than during the winter?
