If You Love ‘Astronaut’ by Griff, You’ll Love These Atmospheric Tracks

Griff

When we hear the name, Griff, you have our full attention. Griff’s latest drop, ‘Astronaut,’ is a raw ballad about struggling to get through to someone who is keeping their guard up. This beautiful track is accompanied by Chris Martin of Coldplay on the piano. Yep, it’s atmospheric! If you love ‘Astronaut’ just as much as us, you need these songs on your playlist. Thank us later!

‘Astronaut’

Starting strong with ‘Astronaut,’ we have to break it down! Griff wrote and produced this entire ballad on her own! Seriously, is there anything she can’t do? She also brought Chris Martin onto the keys to turn it into what we can only describe as a masterpiece. The track is accompanied by a live music video shot at the Greenwich Maritime Museum in London.

The opening chords on the piano mixed with Griff’s raw vocals are enough to send us soaring into space after the first listen. The lyrics feature Griff’s soothing British accent and delicate harmonies. Lyrics like “Oh, you said you needed space, go on then, astronaut” really maintain that traditional British humor while delivering a heartbreaking narrative. Also, the line, “when you realize there’s nothing out there but matter and emptiness, and you let a good thing go.” If that’s not enough to pull at your heartstrings, we don’t know what is.

‘Vertigo’ by Griff

We’re officially in Griff’s cinematic era, and her album, Vert1go 1, is full of fan favorites. Simply listen to ‘Vertigo,’ and you’ll understand what we mean. This song explores the roller coaster ride of being a young adult and the general disorientation that comes with navigating the struggles of young adulthood.

What we love about this album is how Griff manages to uplift us with messages that turn these times into sources of power. Contrasting the more subtle, laid-back vibes of ‘Astronaut,’ ‘Vertigo’ lends itself to a more mainstream pop sound yet holds those soothing vocal and raw lyrics everyone adores.

‘My Universe’ by Coldplay Featuring BTS

Keeping on the theme of cinematic and atmospheric music recs, we need to talk about the song ‘My Universe’ by Coldplay and BTS. This track is a true worldwide favorite and a cool crossover of universes. Chris blended with our Brit pop queen Griff in ‘Astronaut’ and previously collaborated with the K-Pop universe to deliver another banger. The uplifting message and sound of ‘My Universe’ makes it a fun sing-along tune that will never get old.
