Pull Up A Chair For Delilah Brao’s ‘Seats For Ghosts’

Delilah Brao

We’ve just hit 2024 and are already starting the year with some great music! If you like songs from artists like Sir Chloe, Carly Rae Jepsenmxmtoon, Olivia O’Brien, and Beach Bunny, Delilah Brao is the artist for you! Delilah is an Indie Pop singer and songwriter who has just released her newest hit, ‘Seats For Ghosts,’ which you should definitely be seated for.

Looking Back

With ‘Seats For Ghosts,’ we find the singer thinking back to all the good memories from a past relationship as well as dreams that could’ve been. There is a line in the track about a pair of chairs her mom was waiting to give to her partner for Christmas, and now it’s just seats for ghosts, hence the track name. Delilah is no stranger to writing tracks that have people thinking back to when they were going through a heartbreak. Her last track, ‘Over The Phone,’ is about a long-distance relationship she was once in that didn’t end up working out; it ended up very abruptly. As a matter of fact, she got broken up over FaceTime, and get this, the call only lasted 5 minutes! We know, we know, we had the exact same reaction. Okay, before we get carried away with ‘Over The Phone,’ let’s head back to ‘Seats For Ghosts,’ because we are simply in love with this heartbreak song.

We are in love with this track, and we can’t stop talking about it! Delilah’s vocals are to die for, and her songwriting skills are amazing. Besides the line we talked about earlier, we are also obsessed with the lyric, “Wanted your space but hated the distance” because, in the song, it’s all about the back and forth, like living in the past but having to face the future, as well as just the back and forth of how the relationship went. It has to be our favorite track from the singer so far and is an excellent track to start with if this is the first time you are listening to her. You can find the track here.

Her upcoming EP, Since You’re In New York, will follow similar themes to her previous tracks, and we are super excited about it. You know we are suckers for sad tracks from amazing artists, so we will for sure be listening in.
