Ashley Cooke – ‘your place’
Ever since Ashley Cooke released shot in the dark, ‘your place’ has been on a constant loop! Ashley is truly the voice that was missing in modern country music. She’s able to express emotions in a way that is usually found in pop singer-songwriter tracks, but puts a country flare on them in a way that reignited our passion for the genre.
Both the video and the song itself are some of Ashley’s best work to date.

Hunter Daily – ‘Girl Friend’
First off, we just want to say that Hunter Daily needs to be on y’all’s radar, like yesterday! The vulnerability in this song mixed with the excitement and the nerves surrounding having a crush on someone is displayed so candidly and we can’t get enough. The openness here allows the audience to instantly connect, which is something that is rare.

Jenna Raine – ‘Lovesick’
We are Jenna Raine stans around here, so of course gushing about her new track was a must. ‘Lovesick’ has come out at the perfect time, any and all Valentine’s Day celebrations we partake in will be soundtracked by this beautiful sentiment about what it’s like to be in love and to want to share that feeling with the masses.

Stela Cole – ‘Die Hard’
‘Die Hard’ tells a story we can all relate to: falling back into toxic tropes because it’s easy and familiar. Stela Cole simply gets it! That ability to have audiences instantly relate is something that will make for a long-lasting career with a fanbase that really values the music.

Sofia Carson – ‘I Hope You Know’
We are long time Sofia Carson fans, so every time we have a new track to talk about, we are elated! ‘I Hope You Know’ is a beyond beautiful love song that shows off the most stunning tone in Sofia’s voice and so much raw emotion. We can already see this song being used all over social media as we approach Valentine’s Day.

Cristina Hart – ‘Like My Father’
‘Like My Father’ hits us like a punch to the gut. The fear of abandonment that Cristina Hart sings about here is something so many of us can relate to, and actively struggle with. We always say that every music round-up needs (at least) one song that we can cry to in the shower, and this is ours this week!

AJA – ‘If I’m Honest’
THP are long-time AJA supporters, so you know we had to show up for ‘If I’m Honest.’ This track is all about taking back your power, about recognizing when things need to change and when you need to be valued more than you currently are used to. We think this may be our favorite AJA project yet!

Jamila Woods – ‘Still’
Water Made Us is such a front-to-back stellar album that we have no idea how Jamila was able to pick which songs to give visuals to and put on a pedestal… but we can definitely see how ‘Still’ got that honor. ‘Still’ is one of our favorite tracks on the record, and the visuals further cemented that!
