If you, like us, recently discovered alt-pop gems flor, you don’t want to miss ‘Warm Blood Pt 2.’ Coming off their hugely successful tour with The Maine, they’re ready to greet their new fans with some of their best music yet.
It only takes one song to recognize flor’s talent for unique melodies. ‘Warm Blood Pt 2’ is no exception. For us, it was love at first note. Immediately, the dreamy sound of the introduction drew us in. By the time lead singer Zach Grace came in, we were sold. And it only gets better from there. They kept us captivated throughout the entire song. With the buoyant instrumentals mixed with the melodic vocals, flor has definitely found the equation for success!
But Wait… There’s More!
This is not only one of our favorite songs flor has released so far, but it’s a sequel. As the title suggests, it follows ‘Warm Blood’ from their 2017 debut come out. you’re hiding. According to the band, ‘Warm Blood Part 2’ did not start as a sequel. But as the song came together, they couldn’t deny the thematic connection.
‘Warm Blood’ perfectly describes the contrast between the safety of love and the dangers. They’re aware of the risks of being with this person, but they can’t help but love them. By the end of the song, it seems to have worked out positively. They continuously compare the warmth of their love to fire. But while fire can represent burning love, it can be destructive, too.
Seven Years Later…
Since the release of ‘Warm Blood,’ flor has learned this lesson. They seem to be confronted by their old love after a disastrous breakup. And the worst part is this person doesn’t even seem to care about what they did. Well, the joke’s on them. flor knows better now!
Zach says ‘Warm Blood Pt 2’ is about “the collateral damage of love.” We can’t help but wonder if the love in ‘Warm Blood’ was worth it after the damage of Part 2. Either way, we’re obsessed with the storytelling. And absolutely everything about this song.
flor plans for ‘Warm Blood Pt 2’ to be the first in a steady stream of new music. So allow us to be the first to say we cannot wait to hear what they give us next.
