Summary: Fi has awakened the sleeping prince, but the battle for Andar is far from over. The Spindle Witch, the Witch Hunters, and Fi’s own Butterfly Curse all stand between them and happily ever after.

Shane has her partner’s back. But she’s in for the fight of her life against Red, the right hand of the Spindle Witch who she’s also, foolishly, hellbent on saving.

Briar Rose would do anything to restore his kingdom. But there’s a darkness creeping inside him—a sinister bond to the Spindle Witch he can’t escape.

All hopes of restoring Andar rest on deciphering a mysterious book code, finding the hidden city of the last Witches, and uncovering a secret lost for centuries—one that just might hold the key to the Spindle Witch’s defeat. If they can all survive that long…

Set in a world of twisted fairytales, The Severed Thread combines lost ruins, ride-or-die friendships, and heart-pounding romance.

Action Packed At Every Turn

One of the things we loved the most about The Severed Thread was the engaging plot. The characters’ journey took us to new settings and exciting places. There they fought witch hunters, powerful witches, and magical storms. The choreography and description of the fighting scenes kept us on the edge of our seats. We just had to know what would happen next! When our characters weren’t in combat with their enemies they were figuring out puzzles Indiana Jones style to recover hidden artifacts or using magic to uncover lost memories. The Severed Thread will capture your attention and refuse to let go.

Rich World Building And An Exciting Magic System

The world of The Severed Thread is also rich with magic and history. The stories of the past we uncovered throughout this book made everything feel so lifelike. Each aspect of the world was beautifully detailed and intricate. We loved learning more about the magic system and what it meant to be a part of it in the past and now. This book also explored Briar’s powers and new magic we hadn’t seen in book 1. If you’re looking for a magical read, you can’t go wrong with this series!

Adorable Romance And Inspiring Character Development

Ever since we finished The Bone Spindle, we couldn’t stop thinking about its amazing characters so we were very excited to read about them again in The Severed Thread. In this sequel, each character got their own chance to shine. We enjoyed learning more about Red and her past. It made us love her even more! We also got to delve into Briar’s life at the castle and his challenges growing up. As our characters braved difficult challenges we also saw them come together as a team. The found family vibes in this book were on point! And don’t get us started on the romance! We were super excited to see more Shane and Red content. Their relationship grew and developed beautifully as they learned to trust each other more. We also couldn’t get enough of Briar and Fi! All in all, the characters were loveable in all the best ways!

Filled with magic, death-defying action scenes, and romances to die for, The Severed Thread by Leslie Vedder is a powerhouse of a sequel that will leave you wanting more.
