Say Anything just released a banging new single, ‘I, VIBRATOR.’ We’ve loved all of their previous singles, like ‘Psyche!’ and others. Not only is this song clever and hilarious, as to be expected. (We also learned what sodium pentothal is after looking it up.) But the song itself also has a deeper meaning. Say Anything is truly defying gender norms, fighting the patriarchy, and advocating for female empowerment with the new track. We also love how his wife, Sherri Dupree-Bemis is also featured on the single.
‘I, VIBRATOR’ is about wanting to be objectified as a righteous tool against the patriarchy for a particular girl to use at will.
Max Bemis
He really said, “Wow, Men Can Get Objectified Too.”
We’re also incredibly stoked because in addition to the new single, they revealed that their first album in 5 (five) years is coming soon. Say Anything’s new album, …Is Committed, drops May 24th via Dine Alone Records, and you can pre-order it now. There are some pretty sick variants for fellow vinyl lovers, and you’ll definitely want to buy at least one of them, if not all.
They’ll also be embarking on the 20 years of Say Anything …is a Real Boy tour, which kicks off next month in Dallas, Texas. You can see the full list of dates below and make sure to get your tickets now! You don’t want to miss out.
