Songs You Didn’t Know Jack Antonoff Was Behind

By now, you’ve probably heard of GRAMMY-winning producer Jack Antonoff. After all, he has famously worked with some of our favorite names. You probably even associate him with Taylor Swift, but you may not know all the iconic songs he’s behind. And you’re in luck! Because we’ll take any chance to discuss the Jack Antonoff musical universe.

‘august’ – Taylor Swift

This iconic duo has certainly made their friendship known (see the handshake they’ve had for ten years). But not even all Swifties know how many fan-favorites are Jack Antonoff specials. Songs like ‘august,’ ‘Getaway Car,’ ‘Cruel Summer,’ and ‘Out of the Woods’ are all produced by Jack. So many iconic Taylor songs have Jack’s name on them, we get excited just seeing his name in the credits now.

‘Supercut’ – Lorde

Nobody can deny the brilliance of Lorde’s Melodrama. And even among a nearly perfect album, we feel confident enough to say ‘Supercut’ may be the best song. It’s the perfect mix of reflective lyrics and cinematic arrangements. Behind Lorde’s own genius mind is Jack, both songwriter and producer. And he didn’t stop there. Most of Melodrama and Solar Power are produced by Jack. So whether you’re looking to dance on the beach or sit in your emotions in the dark, Lorde, and by extension Jack, has got you.

‘Don’t Take The Money’ – Bleachers

Jack Antonoff may be the king of producing our favorite pop artists, but he also has incredible music of his own. As the lead of Bleachers, he’s released four albums, and each one is just as exciting as the last. Most notably, ‘Don’t Take The Money’ feels just as euphoric now as it did when it came out seven years ago.

‘Amoeba’ – Clairo

Here Jack shows off a more subtle producing style. While some people know Jack for his dramatic production with Taylor or Lorde, most of Clairo’s Sling is dominated by a soft piano and guitar. Of course, it still includes a few fun flourishes that have become Jack’s signature.

‘Carry On’ – fun.

You may not have known that Jack Antonoff was in fun. But for those of you who grew up in the early 2010s, we know you remember their songs. Jack was the drummer. More proof that he can do everything! Next time you listen to songs like ‘Carry On’ or ‘Some Nights,’ remember that the face behind the drums is the same face behind ‘Getaway Car.’

‘Brave’ – Sara Bareilles

We bet you didn’t know Jack was a co-writer on this hit from 2013. You couldn’t get away from this song back then. And listening to it again, it’s easy to see why. Even eleven years later, this song holds up! Jack commented on being proud of this song for being “a real civil rights anthem.” And in 2013, we can see how it helped us get to where we are in music today!

‘Alfie’s Song (Not So Typical Love Song)’ – Bleachers

Did you know Jack Antonoff has worked with Harry Styles? Although Harry has yet to join the produced-by-Jack club, they did write this song together for the Love, Simon soundtrack. You can definitely hear both artists’ influence in ‘Alfie’s Song.’ So if you’re starving for new Harry content and you haven’t heard this before, give it. a try!

‘Georgia’ – Kevin Abstract

Despite how much we could talk about his work with the pop girlies, Jack can do more than that. He also produced rapper Kevin Abstract’s ARIZONA BABY. This album is a perfect blend of hip-hop and pop, and all of Jack’s touches help create something that fans of any music can enjoy.

‘Goodbye to Love’ – Phoebe Bridgers

Phoebe Bridgers and the Minions soundtrack are two things we never thought we would see together. Add Jack Antonoff to it, and it’s a real phenomenon. But somehow it worked. The song incorporates a jazzy style of saxophones that you might be more likely to hear in a Bleachers song, while still perfectly capturing Phoebe’s more chill style.

We could go over Jack Antonoff’s collection for hours. And we recommend you do, every song is so iconic. Did we miss your favorite? Let us know in the comments or by tweeting us at @thehoneypop!
