(G)I-DLE is on a roll in 2024! We didn’t expect anything less from these girls. After their massive comeback with ‘Super Lady‘ and 2, which included their (lowkey unexpected yet historic) hit ‘Fate,’ Yuqi is here to give us her first solo mini-album! The day isn’t quite here yet as YUQ1 will be released on April 23rd, but she did give us a first taste of her magic with ‘Could It Be.’
‘Could It Be’
‘Could It Be’ is not exactly new to us as Yuqi sang it for her solo stage during (G)I-DLE’s world tour last year. But to now have the studio version and to be able to loop it in every streaming platform is actually everything to us. ‘Could It Be’ is a song about reaching your dreams and trusting yourself. This soft pop track is refreshing and embodies springtime beautifully. It fills any listener with hopes and dreams. The lyrics are completely in English, and it’s so easy to get lost in the song’s vibe as we sing our lungs out. ‘Could It Be’ truly creates a magical atmosphere.
The music video is especially dreamy, as it shows Yuqi going on an adventure and finding what she wants to do and who she wants to be. ‘Could It Be’ is perfect for a coming-of-age movie or road trip, and the music video encapsulates that perfectly. The aesthetics and visuals are gorgeous throughout. And it leaves us with the message and the courage that everyone should follow their dreams and simply go for it.
‘Could It Be’ is only the first taste of Yuqi’s mini-album, YUQ1, which will be released on April 23rd. With this newest song and knowing we’re still obsessed with her first single album, we can’t hold our excitement for this release!
