We’ve Narrowed Down Our Six Favorite (G)I-DLE Music Videos

(G)I-DLE are the queens of concept. They always go all out when it comes to their music, the concept, the aesthetic, the message, and, of course, it all amounts to the music video. So it’s no wonder we often find ourselves watching their music videos repeatedly, obsessed with every single detail, choreography, shot, and transition. Here are six of (G)I-DLE’s music videos that we could never get tired of watching!

‘TOMBOY’

An obvious choice, but for a reason. ‘TOMBOY‘ was (G)I-DLE’s big comeback and completely took over the internet – and rightfully so. (G)I-DLE took on a pop-punk concept and came out with an absolute banger, with a music video that made the song even more addictive, cool and badass. With the different imageries and movie references, the girls take control and join forces to plot against someone in the music video. It’s such an addictive music video. No wonder it’s their most-viewed music video, with over 300 views on YouTube – about half of those could be ours…

‘Oh My God’

Oh My God‘ was really a moment. (G)I-DLE took a dark concept and turned the creepy, luring, intriguing aesthetic into a music video that still gives us the chills every time we watch it. The image of Soyeon singing in the middle of dancing bodies will never leave our mind, nor will the iconic moment of her giving us one of her best raps through barbed wires. The music video of ‘Oh my god‘ is just one of those videos you can’t help but picture in your mind whenever you listen to the song.

‘Nxde’

‘TOMBOY’ marked the beginning of the huge year that was 2022 for (G)I-DLE. And it was followed by the massive hit that was ‘Nxde.’ (G)I-DLE didn’t let us down one bit when it came to the music, much less regarding the concept and the aesthetic. (G)I-DLE released ‘Nxde‘ as a way to call out the (often hypocritical) over-sexualization of women. They made references to very iconic women, especially Marilyn Monroe, and also took on Moulin Rouge-like outfits to truly expose how women have been treated by the industry. ‘Nxde‘ is just that music video.

‘I Want That’

In 2023, (G)I-DLE surprised us with their first mini-album in English. Its title track, ‘I Want That,’ was an absolute banger, and the music video made it even better. (G)I-DLE leaned more toward a storyline type of music video and absolutely ate when it comes to acting. Do proceed with caution, as the music video deals with the topic of abusive relationships. ‘I Want That’ is again all about empowerment, and that will always get our stamp of approval.

‘Revenge’

The music video for ‘Revenge’ may have just been released but it already changed lifes (ours). This b-side out of (G)I-DLE’s second full-length album was already one of our favorite but the music video added a whole entire new layer to the song. The dark, film-like aesthetic is perfect for ‘Revenge,’ and just as the title indicates, it shows the girls plotting to get revenge. They take on the idea of turning their song into a movie to the other level, and it’s the best thing ever. ‘Revenge’ has a very unique and special energy to it that this music video captures simply perfectly.

‘Queencard’

And talking about storylines… Of course, we couldn’t leave ‘Queencard‘ out of this list. With also over 300 million views, ‘Queencard’ is the definition of iconic. (G)I-DLE also opted for a storyline in this one. The story actually starts in ‘Allergy’ and continues with ‘Queencard.’ This music video is just fun just like the song itself. It’s also so entertaining to recognize all the different references they make to different elements of pop culture, going from Little Mix to White Chicks. However, at its core, ‘Queencard’ is all about empowering women to accept themselves just as they are and have fun with it.
