Most of them are basically whole movies, and the level of style we’ve come to expect from our faves is extraordinary TBH. It’s been such a good year for K-Pop MVs that we figured that there might be some you haven’t had a chance to check out yet, or just some that you need an excuse to rewatch!

So naturally, THP has your back, and we’ve rounded up ten of the very best music videos in K-Pop throughout 2023 for your viewing pleasure!

‘Like Crazy’ – JIMIN

“She’s saying, ‘Baby, 생각하지 마,'” but what she (we) is actually saying is, “How do I live inside the universe that ‘Like Crazy’ takes place in?” The 80s glamour in this music video is so beautiful, and how well it plays into ‘Like Crazy’s concept is delightful. It’s synth-pop meets glam rock meets punk, and it works.

‘Hear Me Out’ – EXO

It feels so good to reminisce about a fresh EXO comeback again! 2023 saw one of K-Pop’s most legendary groups release their seventh full album, Exist. A pre-release from the album, ‘Hear Me Out’ stands out not just for the song itself but for the music video, too. The 90s Miami aesthetic matches perfectly with the groove and funk-influence in the track! The color palette and late summer evening vibes couldn’t be dreamier.

‘Queencard’ – (G)I-DLE

Good luck getting this song out of your head in 2023, 2024, or ever. ‘Queencard’ is iconic, so we’re so glad it has a music video to match its energy! Few artists pull off the ever-popular Y2K concept as well as (G)I-DLE can, and they prove that in this music video.

‘Crazy Form’ – ATEEZ

Need some maximalist style inspiration? Look no further than ATEEZ. Our guys do not know how to do subtle, and we don’t want them to either. The cinematography in ‘Crazy Form’ is stunning and every bit as intricate as their lore is. ATEEZ’s styling is always decadent, and we love to see it.

‘FLOWER’ – JISOO

One of K-Pop’s most stylish idols debuted as a soloist this year, so naturally, JISOO had one of the most gorgeous music videos to match. ‘FLOWER’ celebrated JISOO’s individual style and independence, and we love how the music video reflects that. We want to own every one of those outfits ASAP.

‘I AM’ – IVE

Are we over how chic IVE are in this music video? No. Will we ever be over it? Also no. IVE never disappoint when it comes to the scale of their MVs, and ‘I AM’ is no exception! The coloring on this is stunning and gives the girls the royal, elegant treatment that they deserve.

‘Rover’ – KAI

Whilst this might technically be KAI’s second mention on this list, we ask that you bear with us. We promise it’s not just because we miss him a ton (though maybe that’s part of it)! ‘Rover’ was inescapable on everyone’s TikTok FYP, but we think it should’ve been just as big on your YouTube algorithm, too! KAI is known for his iconic idol fashion, and ‘Rover,’ a song about fame and self-reinvention, is the perfect playground for him to explore this further.

5 Artists We’d Love To See Make A Spooky Music Video

‘UNFORGIVEN’ – LE SSERAFIM

‘Unforgiven’ might’ve lowkey been eclipsed by ‘Eve, Psyche, and the Bluebeard’s Wife,’ but we’re not letting the music video be underrated anymore! The styling is absolutely stunning, not least Kazuha’s angel wings, but we love how well LE SSERAFIM’s clothing is used to illustrate the concept here.

‘Sugar Rush Ride’ – TOMORROW X TOGETHER

TXT said, “Gimme, gimme more,” and that’s pretty much how we felt about TXT’s styling throughout the TEMPTATION era. These chic lost boys stole our hearts back in January, and have had them, and our Pinterest feeds, in a tight grip ever since. How they manage to look equal parts feral and fashion-forward, we’ll never know.

‘Slow Dancing’ – V

Every track on Layover got the music video treatment, so it was hard to choose a fave, but ‘Slow Dancing’ is truly gorgeous. It’s rare to see a music video encapsulate not only a song but the artist as a whole so well. The sunny Spanish road trip combined with elements of surrealism couldn’t represent V any better.
