One of our favorite things about K-Pop has to be the many facades it has: mixing genres, concepts, and so much more. To celebrate this year’s Halloween, here are some K-Pop songs that fit the Halloween season perfectly and are perfect for a party!
‘WOLF BABY’ by TRCNG
Why not start with a song that takes on one of the best concepts for Halloween? TRCNG take on the concept of werewolves with ‘Wolf Baby’ but the song is bright and awesome, and it’s everything we love about K-pop. And the music video is straight-up Halloween vibes.
‘Scream’ by Dreamcatcher
There are so many songs by Dreamcatcher we could add to this list. Their complex concept surrounding dreams and nightmares creates the perfect Halloween atmosphere. However, there’s something about ‘Scream’ that is even more dark. The mixture of rock and EDM makes it the perfect addition to a Halloween playlist for the spooky season.
‘WITCH’ by BF
BF, formally known as BOYFRIEND, released ‘Witch’ in 2014 and changed our lives. It has that amazing 2nd Gen K-pop flare to it – with amazing vocals and a fun yet sophisticated melody. It’s never late to discover this amazing song.
TO LEARN MORE ABOUT BF:
‘Psycho’ by Red Velvet
Red Velvet‘s ‘Psycho’ still has an undescribable hold on all of us, and if this song isn’t in every single one of your K-Pop playlists yet – well this is your wake-up call. It’s its production and the sophisticated yet intriguing energy of the song that makes ‘Psycho’ such a perfect song to listen to during this time. To be fair, ‘Psycho‘ is a song that we could loop all year long but something about it hits harder this time of year.
‘Monster’ by EXO
The Halloween season is all about mystical creatures, zombies, monsters, and being frightened. So of course, what better song to get into that mood than ‘Monster’ by EXO? It’s iconic, it’s excellent, it’s dark, it’s obscure. This is a perfect season to revisit this absolute masterpiece.
‘Dracula’ by f(x)
This might be a b-side, but it is as worthy of a place in your party playlist as any other song. Starting with a scream that sets you right in the mood, f(x)‘s ‘Dracula’ is another one of those songs that represent the excellence of the 2nd gen. It’s fun, catchy, yet spooky, and just perfect for a K-Pop Halloween playlist. And it’s about Dracula after all, that alone should make you want to listen to it.
‘Danger’ by BTS
BTS has released nothing but masterpieces, and that also includes their earlier discography. ‘Danger’ may be one of their earliest title track but its obscure hip-hop energy is still one of a kind and has to be one of the best out there. It’s addictive, contagious, and simply a classic at this point.
‘Hobgoblin’ by CLC
And talking about classics: of course, your playlist needs ‘Hobgoblin’ by CLC. Their take on the girl crush concept is just everything and the song still has such a deep grip on all of us. And well, the title says it all, doesn’t it? One of the best parts of Halloween is remembering the most iconic and scariest characters out there.
‘Savage’ by A.C.E
‘Savage’ has to be one of our favorite A.C.E releases ever, and if we could play at every party: we would. But ok, in all seriousness, something about the production is just genius and creates an atmosphere that is so fitting for Halloween. You can never go wrong with ‘Savage’ by A.C.E either way.
‘VILLAIN DIES’ by (G)I-DLE
Out of (G)I-DLE‘s first full-length album, ‘VILLAIN DIES’ is quite literally the definition of a K-pop Halloween song. Just the beginning of it sets the atmosphere for a type of scary storytelling, and with the twists and turns, it really feels like a storyline. It has so many layers of it, and the drop is truly the cherry on top. ‘VILLAIN DIES’ is the embodiment of a scary story in a song.
‘Monster’ by BIGBANG
With an emotional melody and a dance beat, ‘MONSTER’ by BIGBANG is a song we could loop for hours. And with the whole concept of monsters, it is the K-pop song to add to a playlist for a Halloween party.
‘Zombie’ by Purple Kiss
Now, most groups may have a dark and obscure approach to zombies and monsters and all the creatures we relate to Halloween, but not Purple Kiss. ‘Zombie’ is a fun, bubbly, bright, and catchy song and it’s crazy to think this was Purple Kiss‘ first ever comeback. Sure Halloween is about scary and spooky things, but it’s also all about fun and Purple Kiss is here to remind everyone.
‘Married To The Music’ by SHINee
Now, we may be biased here but SHINee lowkey invented Halloween with this one. Not only is ‘Married To The Music’ a great song, with its groovy and retro feel, and actually quite meaningful lyrics, but its music video is just everything. It’s disturbing in the most fun way. And yes, they owned Halloween with this one – hands down.
‘Can’t Stop The Party’ by Seori
Seori is such a talented singer-songwriter and with ‘Can’t Stop This Party‘ she created a truly strange yet unique atmosphere. And it works perfectly with her alien-like concept. The Halloween season is the best season to embrace some weirdness and strangeness, and this is definitely the song your playlist needs.
‘Wonderland’ by ATEEZ
ATEEZ never miss with their music and much less with their title tracks, and ‘WONDERLAND’ remains one of their most iconic and best title tracks ever. Their take on the dark concept was just incredible. Yes, because don’t let it fool you, this isn’t a colorful wonderland – quite the opposite. This one is just musical genius.
‘DICE’ by NMIXX
While we love classics and iconic songs, we also love new releases and ‘DICE’ by NMIXX cannot miss here. Taking inspiration from Alice In Wonderland, putting some circus vibes in it, and creating a spooky atmosphere, ‘DICE‘ is fun and dynamic, and such an incredible release from a rocky group. It’s fun yet spooky and that’s what makes it the perfect Halloween song.
‘Voodoo Doll’ by VIXX
We’ve had monsters, zombies, and other creatures, but here VIXX goes for another side of the dark concept with ‘VOODOO DOLL.’ They take the spooky and scary vibes to a whole other level, and it’s simply incredible. The music video is lowkey actually scary. They didn’t take this concept lightly and went all in it for it – and we love them so much for it.
‘Tail’ by SUNMI
One of the most conceptual songs by Sunmi is of course her 2021 single: ‘Tail.’ Her take on Catwoman is gorgeous, iconic, show-stopping, and truly unique. Not only that but the atmosphere the song creates is just perfect – mysterious, sexy, and intriguing. You really shouldn’t miss out on this one.
‘Thriller’ by BTOB
Of course, there’s ‘Thriller’ by Michael Jackson that fits perfectly for this season, but there’s also ‘Thriller’ by BTOB… Ok, jokes aside, seeing BTOB take on a dark concept, dancing, and singing in a cemetery is just amazing. It’s everything we love about BTOB’s music, but add the spooky vibes of Halloween.
‘GingaMingaYo (the strange world)’ by Billlie
Billlie‘s entire concept is strange, weird, and quirky – and we absolutely love every single part of it. Even with no knowledge of their complex lore, ‘GingaMingaYo (thestrange world)‘ is just a fun quirky listen that fits the season perfectly. And it’s also the perfect song to get into this incredible rocky group.
‘Up All Night’ by Stray Kids
Was there really a reason to release a song with a vampire concept in the middle of June 2021? Not really, but Stray Kids didn’t need one. The only problem with this one is that it’s only on YouTube for now, but it is so worth it to check it out. This unit of Bang Chan, Changbin, Felix and Seungmin is fun yet dark – especially the music video – and it shows a side of Stray Kids you may have never seen before. It’s truly worth it.
‘Peek-A-Boo’ by Red Velvet
Well of course we couldn’t do a list of K-Pop songs for your Halloween party without mentioning this absolute classic. ‘Peek-A-Boo‘ is a fun take on a dark, Halloween concept. And it fits Red Velvet so well. It’s no wonder this is one of their most iconic and memorable title tracks – and it’s Red Velvet we’re talking about here: everything they do is iconic.
‘Drink It’ by THE BOYZ
For their first Universe single, The Boyz took on the concept of vampires – and gosh, they did it so well. Not only the song is absolutely incredible and worthy of being a title track, but the aesthetics and vibes of the entire thing are just immaculate. The Boyz are simply incredible at every concept they take on.
‘bugAboo’ by bugAboo
Another rocky girl group you could add to your Halloween party playlist is of course bugAboo‘s debut track. The girls take on the concept of Ghostbusters but in a bright and bubbly way. It’s fun, it’s cute, it’s catchy, and at the same time it’s a super cool track. ‘bugAboo‘ is basically what happens when Ghostbusters meets K-Pop.
‘Dr. Bebe’ by Pentagon
Last but most definitely not least, we have ‘Dr. Bebe’ by Pentagon. To say that this group can do it all is an understatement because how do they have a bright and fun song like ‘Naughty Boy’ in their discography and then do ‘Dr. Bebe’? Their music is so diverse, and this is by far their darkest most obscure song – and they pulled it off amazing. The melody, the vibes, everything is absolutely immaculate and perfect for the Halloween season.
