Clocking Into ATEEZ’s GOLDEN HOUR: Part.1, Never Clocking Out

Gotta ‘WORK,’ gotta stream ATEEZ new stuff, gotta replay as we hype it all up, “gotta gotta gotta work.” We aren’t lyric writers, but did we get the melody running in your head already? If you don’t know what we mean, we are about to change that by getting you to listen to ATEEZ’s latest comeback, GOLDEN HOUR: Part.1.

The pirates are back and started a new series in their journey with this new album. The first part of the GOLDEN HOUR is here, bringing us a whole new vibe from our favorite seafarers. The album will make listeners dance whenever they hear the more upbeat tracks and slow (it) down for the emotional piece on the tracklist.

ATEEZ Make Everything ‘WORK’

We can’t have an ATEEZ comeback and not talk about the title track. And we have so many words, we don’t know where to start or how to end this. Sound like our thoughts are chaotic? Well, have you seen the music video for ‘WORK?’ There is so much happening that we want to scream at everything, to point at all the funny parts, and discuss every single detail laid out for us.

ATEEZ’s music videos have a charm no one can deny. Each one has its own special spark that makes it stand out and shine, and that simply adds to the attractiveness of the already striking title tracks that the group continuously drops. And like all of their main songs, ‘WORK’ is already leaving a mark on fans’ minds, hearts, and playlists.

It takes one listen (or one look at their teaser, as it was for us) to know which lines are going to be embedded into your minds. ‘WORK’ is that catchy bop that will be played over and over and soundtrack the following months of many ATINY, as well as casual listeners. Let’s be real: ATEEZ can allure people in with their music and performances so easily that it’s a little insane. But that’s talent for you, and these eight guys have a lot of it.

Ok, no matter how many times we listen to ‘WORK’ or rewatch its video, we still can’t pick our most favorite parts. The gold is in the details. Did we expect to see Jongho buried in the ground with just his head and hands showing so he could play the flute? Or to see Seonghwa ride a whole ostrich, like the king he is? What about Yeosang hugging a chicken, anyone else been in such a spot with their favorite food? And that’s just a small part of all that is going on.

We have flamenco dancers, a giant money-man, a lot of dancing birds, and that big golden egg which… We won’t spoil it all, in case you haven’t seen it yet. But trust us, ATEEZ‘s ‘WORK’ is not to be missed out on. There is so much to vibe to and so many things to discover; it’s a real worldwide experience.

The GOLDEN HOUR Is Upon Us

As much as we love ‘WORK’ and want to keep talking about it, we also want to mention all the powerful B-sides that GOLDEN HOUR: Part.1 has to offer. The majority of the songs cover an upbeat sound and a variety of genres being experimented with. The songs in question are ‘Blind,’ ‘Shaboom,’ and ‘Siren,’ all hitting differently and carrying their own distinctive atmosphere. This album allows us to appreciate beats from around the world, all presented through ATEEZ’s music.

The more gentle and very emotional track that differs from the livelier pieces on this list is ‘Empty Box.’ We are melting from the members’ honey vocals that deliver this wonderful song, and we are almost certain that it is already a fan-favorite. And, the fact that ATEEZ performed this tender music number makes our hearts feel so many things, both happy and sad, but overall, it leaves us with smiles and a bigger appreciation for life.

Who knew we’d have such a rollercoaster of emotions when most of the songs give off happier dance vibes? Maybe the hint should have been the intro, that is, ‘Golden Hour.’ The message it leaves us with is very sentimental. We honestly feel like tearing up every time we hear it.
