A Decade Later, Let’s Take A Look Back At Ed Sheeran’s X

x is an all-timer album, so there is no surprise that we are here a decade later still gushing over it. It’s been proven time after time that Ed Sheeran is a star of his own caliber, and so many of the songs on x are perfect examples of why he has reached that level of success. This one album has ‘Thinking Out Loud,’ ‘Don’t,’ and ‘Photograph,’ that’s an insane trio. To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of x, Ed Sheeran has released an anniversary edition of the record, and we are reliving 2014 all over again. Back to simpler times! While re-listening we realized how well every tracked has aged, and knew we had to break down the ones we are still most caught up on with all of you!

‘All of the Stars’

Yes, we are still emotional thinking about this song playing in theaters while we were trying to process The Fault in our Stars. Ed Sheeran was (and still is) the perfect artist to master a soft-pop song that packs such an emotional punch.

‘Tenerife Sea’

If anyone ever sang a song this beautiful about us we would simply combust. It’s that simple. The lyrics to ‘Tenerife Sea,’ even a decade later still have us in shambles. With as many beautiful love songs as there are on x, ‘Tenerife Sea’ often gets overlooked, and that’s criminal.

‘I’m a Mess’

If you’re wondering what song on x we have cried repeatedly to, it’s ’I’m A Mess.’ Hands down. The emotions conveyed in this track are so relatable, and immediately upon registering we were transported right back to how hard it hit us upon first listen.

‘Don’t’

There are few verses in pop music that hit as hard as the ones found in ‘Don’t.’ This track has been one of those that over the last year or so the internet has made go viral and praised for the flow and lyrical content, which of course Ed deserves endless praise for.

We will be fifty and this song will still make us scream every single word.

‘New York’

‘New York’ is the most underappreciated song on x. You can agree or be wrong! We had forgotten what a beautiful track this was, and then as soon as we revisited the record it hit us all at once.
