We can never say no to a good summer comeback, much less when it comes from Weeekly. Finding the perfect middle between cute and sophisticated, Weeekly are back with another flawless mini-album, Bliss, and its title track, ‘LIGHTS ON.’ This comeback is refreshing and an amazing addition to Weeekly’s discography. Bliss is just what we needed the most right now!
‘LIGHTS ON’
‘LIGHTS ON’ is the perfect song for Weeekly: it mixes cute vibes, summer vibes, yet has its own sophistication to it. The song is super creative and imaginative and has one of our favorite pre-chorus ever. ‘LIGHTS ON’ is bright, carefree, and refreshing, even with its hint of retro feel. Something about the melodies will make this song stick in the best way – as we’ve come to know with most of Weeekly‘s best songs. The girls embodied this summer concept beautifully, and the music video is further proof of it. ‘LIGHTS ON’ screams Weeekly’s name, and we love it.
Bliss
Everything about Bliss doesn’t come down only to the title track but to the flawless b-sides that complement it so well. In these tracks, Weeekly explores new things, showcases their vocals in the most beautiful ways, and creates the perfect atmosphere to lay back and enjoy life.
Bliss starts extremely strong with ‘Twenties,’ a song that can only be described as pop excellence with its soft and gorgeous melodies. This b-side has the perfect coming-of-age aura, but for anyone in their twenties. It’s all about embracing the most beautiful sides of youth, and it embodies the rest of Bliss wonderfully. As you may guess by its title, ‘Dance Dance Dance!’ is full of fun energy. It’s one of those party songs that makes you let go of all your worries with its infectious summer vibe.
‘Classic’ is one of Weeekly’s most unique b-sides. Right from the first few notes, you just know this one is going to be a banger. And it is. ‘Classic’ is a surprising song with its unique production and structure, proving that Weeekly aren’t afraid to try new things. The song also feels incredibly empowering and showcases Weeekly’s amazing vocals in a way you wouldn’t expect in such an upbeat track. However, the track that makes their insane vocals shine even more is, of course, ‘Page (A Story That Reached Me).’ This is the ballad and last song in Bliss – and what a beautiful way to wrap up the mini-album. It’s emotional, hopeful, comforting. And we could never get tired of listening to Weeekly’s angelic vocals. The Weeekly girls truly never miss, and Bliss is the perfect release to sit back, relax, enjoy, and see the beauty in life.
