We went all the way to Bournemouth to see The Vamps absolutely blow the roof off the O2 Academy. Meet The Vamps celebrates its 10th birthday this year and the band has performed a total of 13 shows across the country. Playing to a sold out show, at any point in your career is exhilarating and The Vamps managed to push that energy into the crowd amazingly. Brad was up and down the equipment, Connor and James were running around the stage and Tristan was going absolutely wild behind the drums.
Opening with ‘Wild Heart’ and finishing with ‘Somebody To You’ allowed the show to go through the motions of every feeling you could have, whilst starting and ending on a high. They played every single song from their debut album, creating some stripped back mash-ups along the way. ‘On The Floor / High Hopes’ and ‘Fall / Jack’ gave the crowd a moment to chill out.

Emotions were running high throughout the entire show. The Vamps have managed to capture nostalgia perfectly, giving every young person who grew up with them the last 10 years, a couple of hours to re-live their teenage years. Even in their ventures over the years, including their solo projects, The Vamps have remained one of the most captivating boybands of our generation.
We still remember watching the music video for ‘Can We Dance’ when it first dropped… we’re now young adults, still fawning over the same bands.
This is the type of show you’ll end up emotionally hungover from as the energy was at 110% all night. The boys delivered on the vocals, the vibes, the instrumentals, and everything else. And the crowd… they knew how to elevate the show. With all that being said, it was an absolute blast and definitely one to remember.
