We can’t wait to hear IVE’s third EP, IVE EMPATHY, when it drops on February 3rd! If the newly-released title track, ‘REBEL HEART,’ is any indication, then we have quite a gem to look forward to. Throughout the song, Gaeul, Yujin, Rei, Wonyoung, Liz, and Leeseo play with the meaning of rebellion as they go against society’s grain and what others think of them. Meanwhile, they stay loyal to the dreams inside of their hearts with powerful vocals and raps! IVE constantly walk the line between elegant and edgy and manage to blow us away every single time.
And we need to talk about the music video’s styling for a sec, because it might just be giving us some of our favorite IVE style moments to date! Between Gaeul’s girly grunge, Yujin’s red jacket, Rei’s sophisticated pastels, Wonyoung’s bridal look, Liz’s fuzzy coat, and Leeseo’s classy school uniform, there’s so much gorgeous style inspo that will be all over our Pinterest boards.

IVE have worked relentlessly hard to make their dreams come true, and their efforts have earned them several dozen awards and millions of fans worldwide. Their passion and drive has been so inspiring to us! This line introduces us to the winning mindset the girls have, choosing to stay confident and optimistic rather than doubt themselves or their abilities.
“Leave all the misunderstandings up to you, because they’ll find out eventually…”
At the end of the day, the truth will always come out, and the hurtful words people might hurl your way don’t dictate who you are on the inside. You know your heart and can keep shining your light until the day they finally see it! It’s better to focus on yourself and your goals instead of worrying about other people’s opinions, which can easily change.
“You can love me, hate me / You will never be, never be, never be me…”
Our jaws dropped when IVE teased this lyric at the end of their “IVE ARCHIVE” performance at the 2024 SBS Gayo Daejeon. It screams It Girl Energy and showcases how IVE always evolve into better, even more talented versions of themselves despite the hate they receive. Internet trolls can keep on talking, because they’ll never be K-Pop icons like these girls are.
“Anyone can run their mouth, putting it into action is what’s hard…”
Finally, one more motivational lyric we wanted to spotlight! As we mentioned earlier, IVE are such hard workers who have kept pushing until they made their dreams come true… and they’re still going to become even more legendary. Would you rather tell someone about your goals or get to show them a little later with proof that you achieved them?
