Asher’s newest track, ‘alternate ending’ is such a departure from his previous sound, and we are convinced that it’s going to become an instant fan favorite! We were lucky enough to get to chat with Asher all about ‘alternate ending,’ what’s next, and much more! Let’s jump in!

Hi Asher! Thank you so much for taking the time to chat with us today! To start us off, how would you describe your music to someone who is tuning in for the first time?
I would describe my music as modern country with elements of pop and genuine storytelling. I am taking my own experiences that I believe resonate with other people because they are likely experiencing some of the same things I am and putting that into my music and songwriting.
‘alternate ending’ is almost here! What are the emotions leading up to this release? How are you feeling about sharing this body of work with fans?
I am very excited to share my new music with the world. This has been an evolution in songwriting for me. As I get older, I get more comfortable sharing components of my own life with my fans. I am more comfortable being vulnerable and sharing myself through my music. For the first time, I feel like I have had a direct hand in the music I want to make and the feelings that I want to share. That is both exciting and at times terrifying.
When it comes to the sound of that track, ‘alternate ending’ it is a departure from some of your other music. Do you consider this track to be a bit of a rebirth of your sound in a way?
I don’t know if I would call it a rebirth as much as it is an evolution for me. As I get older I have more power to chart my own direction and write and create music that resonates with me and my life. I hope that translates to the fans.
With ‘alternate ending’ were there any alternate titles you thought of that didn’t make the final cut?
Not really. ‘alternate ending’ fits based on the lyrics and the feeling of the record. Another title that may have worked would be: ‘another world,’ ‘next time,’ ‘in my dreams.’ I don’t know – just spit-firing here. ‘alternate ending’ is what works and what I went with.
As we start off the new year, is there a resolution surrounding your music that you are hoping to fulfill?
In 2025, I would love the opportunity to bring my music to the fans. Meeting new people and having the ability to sing my new music and connect to with my fans. Performing live, and touring, that would be a dream for me.
As we sit here in 2025, ‘One Thought Away’ was six years ago! That song was undoubtedly a hit! What is something you learned about yourself as an artist during that release process that you are still carrying with you today?
Wow. 6 years ago! That is hard to believe! Back then I was 15 years old and didn’t have either the ownership or confidence that I have now. I was more being led than leading – which I am doing today. Nonetheless, I worked with some great people on that record that I still maintain great relationships with. So I am grateful for that.
As we look forward to the ‘alternate ending’ release, we have to ask, are we looking at the beginning of a bigger project? Or is this a stand-alone track?
Definitely the beginning of a bigger project. This is one record in a body of work that I will be releasing in 2025. Excited to release the first piece of the music puzzle.
Once again, thank you so much for taking the time to chat with us! Before we let you go, knowing you have a career both in television/film and music, is there a skill you think you’ve honed that transcends medium and has made you a better creative in general?
The ability to tell a story. In film/television, I am telling somebody else’s story. In music, I get to tell my own story. But they are both an art form in storytelling and sharing. That and time. With time, comes confidence. Confidence in songwriting, confidence in myself, and confidence in my journey.
