Nessa Barrett fans, this is your home. You all know we love Nessa and her music! That’s why when we saw she released a new song, we absolutely freaked out. We thought we got blessed when AFTERCARE came out, but Nessa decided to give us more with ‘DOES GOD CRY?’ and the announcement of her deluxe album. Because we love to be dramatic, and we love to stream Nessa’s music, here are four songs from her album AFTERCARE that make us ugly cry.
‘DOES GOD CRY?’ – LISTEN HERE!
We don’t know, but we do know that we’re sobbing crying over here. Nessa just dropped a single titled ‘DOES GOD CRY?’ and we knew it would be an instant hit upon our first listen. Our favorite part about being Nessa Barrett fans is getting songs like these. They bring out the true emotion in Nessa that we love to hear accompanied with good lyrics and great vocals. What more could we ask for?
‘RUSSIAN ROULETTE’
We’re definitely playing roulette with our emotions when we listen to this song. Even though this song is only 2 minutes and 30 seconds, it had us in a complete chokehold upon our first listen. Now, we make sure we listen to it at least once a day for a good ugly cry. It’s good to regulate your emotions, okay!? If you love Lana Del Rey, we know you’ll love this song too!
‘EDWARD SCISSORHANDS’
Nessa + one of our favorite movies ever? Yes, please! We were immediately drawn to the title of this song, and we knew it would probably be a tear-jerker just based on the title. Boy, were we right. It’s one of our favorite songs off of AFTERCARE, and we always play it first. We’d love to see Nessa make a music video for this track—what about you?
‘STAY ALIVE’
Although this song isn’t really sad, the messaging gets us emotional. The concept of thinking you’re going to die because you love something so much is so relatable to us. Knowing “there’s beauty in the pain” can be a tough lesson to learn, but Nessa paints the picture beautifully in the lyrics in ‘STAY ALIVE.’
AFTERCARE DELUXE
Thankfully we get to keep ugly crying some more because Nessa is dropping a deluxe version of AFTERCARE on February 7, 2025!
