What’s the best way to celebrate Valentine’s Day? By using Taylor Swift lyrics to express your love, of course! Obviously, given Taylor Swift’s relationship with her pen, you can find some of the most beautifully written lyrics within her discography! From lyrics from songs like ‘Lover,’ to newer songs like ‘The Alchemy,’ there is always a Taylor Swift lyric that fits exactly what we want to say! Somehow, we were able to narrow down our top five lyrics for you (and us) to put to use this year! Let’s jump in!
“All’s well that ends well to end up with you” from ‘Lover’
The title of the track says it all, ‘Lover’ is the ultimate Taylor Swift love song. This song has some of the softest, most descriptive lyrics about being in love. There are obviously quite a few lyrics to pick from when it comes to what would fit perfectly on a Valentine’s Day card, but to us, “All’s well that ends well to end up with you” was the clear front-runner.
“You are the best thing that’s ever been mine” from ‘Mine’
‘Mine’ has always been one of the first songs we think of when we think of love songs in Taylor’s discography. This song chronicles that feeling of being truly loved. Truly expected. Feeling safe with your partner. And that feeling should be celebrated. Should be screamed from the rooftops, or at least, written on a card!
“It’s you and me, that’s my whole world” from ‘Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince’
Everything about the lyric “It’s you and me, that’s my whole world” screams young love. Which is exactly what the whole of ‘Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince’ as a song represents. It’s that feeling of your first love or a love that feels so infused with puppy love energy that it feels like a first love.
“I find myself runnin’ home to your sweet nothings” from ‘Sweet Nothing’
‘Sweet Nothing’ is full of understated, yet just as equally love-filled lyrics as the other lyrics we’ve mentioned. There’s a lot of beauty in the ordinary, in the silence, in the sweet nothings. We think celebrating the seemingly mundane ways that love is shown on Valentine’s Day should be more normalized.
“Cause the sign on your heart said it’s still reserved for me” from ‘The Alchemy’
We simply have to include one of our favorite love songs from The Tortured Poets Department, ‘The Alchemy.’ This song is about trusting and not ignoring fate. About seeing what’s in front of you and chasing it instead of running away from it, and that is the energy we are putting out this Valentine’s Day!
