It’s a fantastic time to be a 5 Seconds Of Summer stan. Not that there’s ever a bad time to be one, per se. But Calum Hood just teased 5SOS6 on Instagram. He posted the Page of Wands on his story and an explanation. Our immediate thought? How we’re beyond excited for this new era and new music! Don’t get us wrong. We absolutely loved 5SOS5 with all our hearts. But getting new music?! Losing our minds just thinking about it.
We at THP are no strangers to tarot. So our second thought? “What current 5SOS songs would represent tarot cards?” If you’re not familiar, that’s okay. We’ll be explaining exactly why we think each song listed fits each card. In honor of 5SOS6, here are 6 5SOS songs as tarot cards.
‘Old Me’ — Death
The Death card is one of the most unnerving cards in the deck because people take it literally. But it can actually be a positive card! It isn’t meant to be taken literally and instead represents transformation. So that’s why we think it’s the perfect fit for ‘Old Me,’ because it’s about a past version of yourself and growing as a person.

‘Youngblood’ — The Hanged Man Reversed
Youngblood’ is rightfully one of 5SOS’ most popular songs for a reason. It’s a banger! This song is all about being stuck in the cycle of a relationship that should’ve ended. So that’s why we think it fits. The Hanged Man Reversed. Yes, tarot cards’ meanings can change depending on the position of the card. The Hanged Man is all about new perspectives and the uncertainty. So, the reversed meaning is you’re apathetic and stalling the inevitable.

‘Amnesia’ — Three Of Swords
The Three Of Swords is just as it appears. Three swords piercing through a heart means intense heartbreak. When we think of a 5SOS song encapsulating just that, ‘Amnesia’ immediately comes to mind. While we love this song, when we have it on repeat, it means we’re really going through it.

‘Best Years’ — Two Of Cups
There were two options for ‘Best Years.’ On one hand, it could arguably be matched to The Lovers card because it represents love. However, we think the Two Of Cups fits just a little bit better. The Lovers represent love as a whole, but the Two Of Cups symbolizes the actions you take when you’re in love. Which adds an extra sense of beauty to this song.

‘Safety Pin’ — Ace Of Wands
We are ‘Safety Pin’ stans until our dying breath and we firmly believe it would’ve been a top contender for The 5SOS Show dice back in 2023. Anyway, one of the reasons why we love it so much is because it’s such an uplifting and inspirational song. And that’s exactly what the Ace Of Wands represents.

‘Jet Black Heart’ — Strength
‘Jet Black Heart’ is another 5SOS song that is close to our hearts. It’s about finding your inner-strength to keep going, even when it’s not easy. The Strength card depicts a woman holding a lion’s jaw, which definitely takes a lot of courage and confidence. Even though we’ll pass on that specific activity, the amount of courage it takes to just persevere in life shouldn’t be diminished.
