Chappell Roan – ‘The Giver’
If you’re anything like us and were raised on 90’s country singers like Faith Hill and Shania Twain, then this nod to the genre and to Chappell’s upbringing is for you! Everything about this creative direction for Chappell makes complete sense to us; it shows that for her, genre is not something she cares to be boxed into and that she is going to create in whatever space feels authentic to her.
‘The Giver’ is going to be the true song of the summer.

Selena Gomez & Benny Blanco – ‘Sunset Blvd’
In our opinion, if any song is going to go head to head with ‘The Giver’ for song of the summer, it’s ’Sunset Blvd.’ This song has so many classic Selena Gomez elements, and Benny did such a great job at highlighting them and bringing fans right back to the songs of Selena’s that we’ve loved for years. This is both a nod to the past and a look into where this album is going. This has to be our favorite release from the collaboration album so far.

Dylan Gossett – ‘Like I Do’
No new music round-up would be complete without a song that brings us to tears. Everyone say thank you, Dylan Gossett! ‘Like I Do’ is a complete love letter to family, to how Dylan grew up. This song chronicles Dylan checking in at different points in his life, wondering if everything he looks back on is seen through the same lens by his parents; do they see it like he does? It’s a beautiful, pondering song that has us holding on to the memories that built us a little tighter.

Knox – ‘50/50’
We are officially under two weeks away from having Knox’s debut album, Going, Going, Gone, available for our listening pleasure! ‘50/50’ is the latest offering from the upcoming record and showcases so much of what we think makes Knox such a special artist. He blends the sounds of early 2000s pop-punk with modern pop seamlessly.

Lo Lauren – ‘Rose & Jack’
If you’re going to reference Titanic in a song, we are going to be seated. It’s that simple. On top of making pop culture references (which we always love), Lo Lauren is at her best both vocally and lyrically on this track. ‘Rose & Jack’ is all about longing, about seeing something on screen and wishing it could be replicated in your real-life relationships.

JADE – ‘FUFN’
We have loved JADE for years as she was making music with Little Mix, but after hearing her solo music, it’s clear this is always the music she was meant to be making. JADE is a full-blown blown pop star. She has such a deep understanding of what it takes to craft a pop song, and she has executed that with every release, including her latest, ‘FUFN.’

Lil Nas X – ‘HOTBOX’
Lil Nas X is a hitmaker. Period. When you look at his discography, you’ll find that you probably know most of his songs, and with what we’ve heard from this era so far, this is going to be yet another album that is chock-full of songs that everyone is going to know every word to. When the music is this good, it’s inevitable.

Ending a new music round-up article with Lucy Dacus is always the way to go! One thing we’ve been particularly blown away with while fully diving into Lucy’s solo music is what a true storyteller Lucy is. ‘Talk’ explores all of the nuanced feelings, like you can’t get an accurate read on the situation. It’s all about having to talk through things in order to get a clear sense of what’s going on and why.
