We are back with the best of what’s new in music this week! From Brittany Broski to Miley Cyrus, we have something for everyone! Let’s jump in!
Miley Cyrus – ‘End of the World’
Anytime we get to embark on a new Miley Cyrus era, we are over the moon. Miley is truly a generational talent, and that becomes clearer with each creative endeavor we have seen her take on over the many years of being fans. ‘End of the World’ marks the second song released from Miley’s upcoming album Something Beautiful and is a song that we need to be dancing around a room to immediately. You are going to be hearing ‘End of the World’ everywhere this summer.

Michael Clifford – ‘cool’
We have prayed for times like these.
Michael Clifford finally releasing his debut solo record is deeply personal to us. ‘cool’ takes us back to pop-punk music of the early 2000s, which is exactly what we’ve always hoped for. Getting to hear who Michael is as a solo artist and getting to see the direction his sole creativity takes and what a self-reflective songwriter Michael is makes us more excited than ever to get more solo Michael music.

Ed Sheeran – ‘Azizam’
Based on how much we’ve listened to ‘Azizam’ since its release, we are pretty sure that this upcoming Ed Sheeran era is about to be one of our favorites from him. Ed has always been a hitmaker, but ‘Azizam’ scratches a part of our brain that is rare. We have had the chorus stuck in our head from the moment that we first heard it; ‘Azizan’ is pure ear candy.

Aly & AJ – ‘Next to Nothing’
Aly & AJ have mastered the art of making sun-soaked pop music. Their last album, a touch of the best gets you up on your feet gets you out and then into the sun, has been our go-to record during any day that even slightly resembles a sunny day, so having new Aly & AJ music to add to that rotation is the perfect way to embark on spring/summer. ‘Next to Nothing’ made us want to be driving down the coast with our windows down, screaming along to every word.

HAIM – ‘Everybody’s trying to figure me out’
We were pretty sure that there was no way ‘Relationships’ was going to be dethroned as our favorite recent HAIM release, and then came ‘Everybody’s trying to figure me out.’ HAIM is truly embarking on our favorite musical chapter of theirs yet. We need to be front row at a HAIM concert singing along to these new songs immediately.

Lydia Night – ‘Pity Party’
It’s official Lydia Night has kicked off her solo career! We have been longtime fans of Lydia from her time in The Regrettes, but ‘Pity Party’ feels like we are seeing who Lydia is at her core as an artist. If this is the caliber of music we are getting as a debut single, we can only imagine where we will see Lydia’s career go.

Knox – Going, Going, Gone
We have (not so) patiently waited for the debut Knox album since we first discovered his music, and all our waiting has finally paid off! Going Going Gone is sixteen songs that transport us right back to the pop music of the earlier 2000s. There is something perfectly nostalgic about Knox’s sound that always draws us further in, and that quality is ever present on this record.

Brittany Broski – ‘The Sun’
Anything we possibly could have expected out of Brittany’s debut single was blown out of the water the moment we heard ‘The Sun.’ We couldn’t have prepared ourselves for the storytelling that would be present. So many of us have been in the exact situation that Brittany is singing about on ‘The Sun’ and immediately felt understood while dissecting the lyrics. With her voice and early relationship with her pen, Brittany is going to have a long career in this business, and we can’t wait to be along for the whole ride.
