We are back! It’s a new week, which means we have a new roster of some of the best music to come out over the last week! From Calum Hood to Shaboozey to Betty Who, we have a little bit of everything! Let’s jump in!
Sadie Jean – ‘The One That I Want (But I Don’t Know Why)’
We are a little shy of one year since Sadie Jean released her album Simple Like 17, and since then, we have gotten both ‘Nice Knowing You’ and now ‘The One That I Want (But I Don’t Know Why).’ Even with only a year separating the album from Sadie’s most recent release, there is very obvious growth. Sadie’s storytelling comes to life more every time we listen to a new song.

Brittany Broski – ‘The Sun’ (Live Performance)
‘The Sun’ blew us away upon first listen. There is so much raw emotion and brutal, reflective honesty, all of which lend themselves beautifully to a live performance. Brittany has such a powerful voice, and we think all it will take to turn anyone into a forever fan is one listen-through of this version of ‘The Sun.’

Dean Lewis – ‘I Hate That It’s True’
The Epilogue is one of the records that blew us away last year. We spent so much time with each of those tracks and have only grown to find more lyrical and vocal moments to love. We are about seven months past the release of the standard version of the album, and Dean Lewis is giving us what we have been (not so) patiently waiting for in the form of a deluxe version! The deluxe album features four new songs, including ‘I Hate That It’s True,’ which is easily already up there with our favorite songs on the standard version.

Cynthia Erivo – ‘Worst Of Me’
One thing about Cynthia Erivo? She is going to have some of the most stunning, powerful vocals you have ever heard. ‘Worst Of Me’ delivers, both vocally and lyrically, having both some of the most heartbreaking and some of the most beautiful lyrics. To us, ‘Worst Of Me’ chronicles realizing how much someone drained you, but then also realizing that maybe, what they took was simply the worst of you. The parts you’d rather leave behind and grow and heal from.

Gracie Abrams – ‘That’s So True’ (The Chainsmokers Remix)
We, of course, like the rest of the world, have loved ‘That’s So True’ since the moment it came out. We didn’t think anything could be done to this song to make us love it even more, but it turns out putting this spin on it and turning it into a song that is going to be playing out of every club speaker this summer was the way to do it!

The Driver Era – Obsession
We are indeed obsessed with Obsession; it was inevitable. We have been fans of The Driver Era since day one and can attest that what they are releasing right now is their best work to date. From (our personal favorite) ‘The Weekend’ to ‘Everybody’s Lover,’ not a single song misses the mark. We can’t wait for the band to start their tour so we can watch these songs come alive. It feels like that is how this album is meant to be consumed.

Calum Hood – ‘Don’t Forget You Love Me’
Last week, we had Michael’s debut solo track, and this week, we have Calum’s. It is a good time to be a 5SOS fan! ‘Don’t Forget You Love Me’ sounds both like something that would attract existing fans of Calum’s while still sounding unique to who he is as a solo artist to attract listeners who are going to know him strictly from this song and future solo music. We feel like we can really see Calum’s artistry shine its brightest in these lyrics and vocal delivery.

Anne-Marie – Act II: If You’re Looking For A Reason To Key Your Ex’s Car
If you’re currently in the market for the perfect break-up tracks, look no further than Anne-Marie’s double-track release, Act II: If You’re Looking For A Reason To Key Your Ex’s Car. This project has both a more mellow track in ‘That’s What You Get,’ all about karma taking its course, and then you have a complete sonic one eighty with ‘Knock Knock’ which comes after feeling like healing has taken place and you can reflect on how free you feel, and how toxic that person’s relationship with you was.

Shaboozey – ‘Blink Twice’ ft. Myles Smith
We think Shaboozey may have found the perfect musical partner in Myles Smith. Both of their voices mesh so smoothly, and this track feels like it plays seamlessly into both of their strengths. We are about two weeks out from Shaboozey’s new album, and after listening to this track, we are convinced it’s going to be one of our favorites of the year.

Finn Wolfhard – ‘Trailers after dark’
‘Trailers after dark’ marks Finn’s second solo release, and it’s clear that this is the musical direction he was supposed to be taking all along. The indie-alt sound to this track is reminiscent of some of our favorite music, like that of Wallows, and had us hooked from the moment the song started. At the beginning of June, Finn will be releasing his debut solo album, Happy Birthday, which features nine songs, including the two he has released already. We can’t wait to listen to it completely.

Betty Who – ‘Run!’
Ending a new music round-up with a new Betty Who song is simply always the way to go! Betty has always made music that sounds like the 80s/90s to us, and we can never get enough of it. This is the exact vibe we were in search of as we head into summer 2025. Betty Who makes pure musical serotonin!
