The Honey POP had the magical opportunity to attend Flipturn’s The Burnout Days Tour recently and we are still buzzing. Let us tell you, this show was everything we’ve ever dreamed of.
The Stews
Before Flipturn rocked out their set, the show was kicked off with one of the best opening acts we’ve seen, The Stews. These guys brought an intense southern rock sound with influences from alternative classics. Shredding guitar solos, and high notes only a few people in the world can achieve, The Stews definitely kicked off the energy for the night. If you haven’t listened to The Stews yet, consider this your chance.
Flipturn
From the moment Flipturn hit the stage, their energy was electric. The crowd never stopped moving. With fans of all ages and backgrounds in attendance, Flipturn’s The Burnout Days Tour transformed MegaCorp Pavilion into another dimension. On the first note, Flipturn launched into a set that perfectly mirrored their dreamy, indie rock vibes with an infectious energy. Records like ‘Juno’ and ‘Burnout Days’ had us dancing like no one was watching. And our personal favorite, ‘August,’ sent literal chills down our spines.
Lead singer Dillon Basse’s vocals? Flawless. Tristan Duncan and Madeline Jarman shredded their guitars? Devon VonBalson killing it on the drums? And Mitch Fountain on the synth? Magical. Each person brought their own unique talents to the stage to form one impeccable band that brought the house down. We were pulled in from the very start and never let go.
As Flipturn’s The Burnout Days Tour travels across the country, we can’t help but feel lucky to be a part of it. This one is going down in The Honey POP’s history as one of our favorite shows yet. Dancing, singing, and yes, collecting confetti souvenirs, we at The Honey POP walked out of the show honored to have witnessed the magic that is Flipturn. We’re definitely counting the days until we can see them again.
