A lot of great things are happening in Caratland, but a big one is that SEVENTEEN has reached their 10th anniversary as a group, meaning we got a new album, as well as some new content. HAPPY BURSTDAY is the group’s 5th studio album, and y’all, it has been a very good birthday so far.
‘HBD’ Carats And SEVENTEEN
HAPPY BURSTDAY has 16 tracks in total, 13 solo tracks, as well as three tracks with the whole group ‘HBD,’ ‘THUNDER,’ and ‘Bad Influence.’ Every song on this album holds a special place in our hearts, and we also have some very special guests on this album. Pharrell Williams for ‘Bad Influence,’ as well as Timbaland for Hoshi’s solo ‘Damage.’ We’re sure it was a dream come true for the members, especially those who had a hand in producing it prior to this. We’ve got to say ‘HBD’ was the best opener, and ‘Bad Influence’ is dripping with Pharrell Williams, and we are obsessed.
For this comeback, we also had the members working hard to promote the album, which included putting on a concert before its release – get this, it was on a bridge. It was literally the coolest thing.

We got a 12-song set, which included the three new group tracks, as well as some fan favorites. SEVENTEEN really tore it down, and the Carats, who were there, as well as those watching online, seemed to have a great time. We know we did. SVT always knows how to put on a hell of a show. Now, before we get carried away, let’s talk about the lead single for HAPPY BURSTDAY, ‘THUNDER.’
‘THUNDER’
‘THUNDER’ brings a new look for SEVENTEEN, from the hair and the outfits to the sets and the storyline of the MV. And honestly, everyone looks great, and their acting is top-notch! Our favorite parts have to be the underground club (the Blitz Club) dance break; the guys, along with the people in the back, look so cool. The part of SCOUPS dancing on the birthday cake, as well as DK waking up in the end, as things are slowing down, are also some of our favorite parts. We advise you to watch the MV more than once because if you blink, you’ll miss something.
Now, for the song itself, we are obsessed with all of it. Every member really killed their parts, but we guess if there were some standout parts, it would have been the whistling throughout it. The chorus, especially when they spell out ‘THUNDER.’ We also want to mention how a CARAT said the “ALO” part reminded them of the cat meme from TikTok, and we can’t hear it any differently. As well as Vernon’s part, “Rumors spread likе fire, chatter evеrywhere,” and THE8’s “At that moment, ring, ring, inspiration, ring, ring.” Those parts have yet to leave our minds. Overall, we give ‘THUNDER’ five big booms jkjk or are we 🤔.
The Solos
Do you know how emotional we got while listening to these tracks and seeing who collabed with the members on it? The answer is very. What we loved most, though, was that each solo really showed what each member was capable of; it also showed their own sounds perfectly. And now we’ve got to the hardest part; we did somehow choose our favorite solos, and it literally took us so long, multiple listens, and some heartaches. But here are our top six solos in no particular order. ‘99.9%’ by Wonwoo, ‘Damage’ by Hoshi (feat. Timbaland), ‘Destiny’ by WOOZI, ‘Gemini’ by Jun, ‘Jungle’ by S.COUPS, and finally ‘Shake It Off’ by Mingyu. Now, this doesn’t mean we don’t love the other solos because we do, and we’re listening to them religiously.
We want to leave you with this: make sure to watch the video down below; it has a lot of old references to SEVENTEEN videos from the past. Please just pay attention to the members’ faces when the ‘fight’ between Seungkwan and DK happens. Also, we have reached 10 years with SEVENTEEN, but we can’t wait to see what’s next for the group. Congratulations, SEVENTEEN, and Carats. We love you endlessly, and we can’t wait to celebrate the 20th year with y’all.
Reminder, listen to SEVENTEEN’s HAPPY BURSTDAY.
