Confession time, right from the start. We don’t think we can be normal about this ATEEZ comeback. Not only about ‘Lemon Drop,’ but the entirety of GOLDEN HOUR: Part.3. If you know the secret of how to not lose one’s mind every time one of the songs plays, please do let us know. But do you think you have it in you to resist the charm of ATEEZ? We don’t think so.
Summer isn’t complete without playing ATEEZ classics like ‘WAVE‘ or ‘Eternal Sunshine,’ and with GOLDEN HOUR: Part.3, we may just have gotten the perfect hot season anthem in the form of ‘Lemon Drop,’ the new album’s main star. We had absolutely no idea what to expect when we first saw the name of this EP’s title track. And we couldn’t have predicted the outcome, aside from knowing it would be an absolute banger. Through its teasers, ‘Lemon Drop’ hinted it would be the song of the summer. But little did we know that it is THE song of the summer.
Listen to ATEEZ’s GOLDEN HOUR: Part.3 here.
Staying Up ‘Till Sunrise With ‘Lemon Drop’
You know how summer bops are usually fun and refreshing? Well, ATEEZ’s ‘Lemon Drop’ is definitely that, yet somehow, we can’t stop feeling the heat. The guys know how to make us forget about the rising temperature outside, as our focus is completely on them and their music. The members even took it upon themselves to show us how fun the hot summer can be in their music video. Did we really need the demonstration of how to use a pool? Yes, definitely.
ATEEZ invited us to this private summer party, and we’re accepting the invitation. But seriously, the amount of sexy that the guys poured into ‘Lemon Drop’ while keeping a fresh vibe is insane. The song teleports us to those hot summer nights where we feel free from the hardships of our daily lives, where we forget our worries and simply exist to enjoy the moment. Yes, all we need to do is press play, and suddenly everything feels better.
Kings Of Performance In Every Season
We saw parts of the choreography in the ‘Lemon Drop’ music video, but the charm of ATEEZ‘s dance shines even brighter during their live performances or their dance practice videos. The glass at the very beginning that Hongjoong drinks from and hands to Seonghwa is quite a nice touch. Simple but leaves a big impression, matching the vibes of the song. We have to ask: are we the only ones reminded of those iconic ‘ARRIBA’ stages that we first witnessed during Coachella 2024?
With how fun and bright the dance is, we’ll be taking in every performance ATEEZ drops of ‘Lemon Drop.’ We simply can’t get enough, no matter how many times we watch them. And we’ve watched a bunch already. Just seeing the smiles on the members’ faces makes us feel good, and we’re here to absorb all the good vibes and share them around.
The Golden Hours Continue With The B-Sides
While we’re obsessed with ‘Lemon Drop,’ we’re also in love with the rest of GOLDEN HOUR: Part.3. The party keeps going with ‘Masterpiece,’ and its playfulness is already taking over. We have a feeling this one will get stuck in your heads (it’s in ours, and it’s great!). But this is where we switch it up a bit. ATEEZ has the power of creating emotional songs that make us think and cry without tapping into the ballad genre. Yes, we’re talking about ‘Now this house ain’t a home.’ Quite the jump from the previously bright atmosphere. ATEEZ are giving us all kinds of emotions with GOLDEN HOUR: Part.3, but let’s be real. We love a little musical roller coaster.
One more switch, but wait. ATEEZ, build us a whole ‘Castle?’ Well, not exactly, but they did create a lovely song that makes us feel safe and seen. It’s our own fortress and feel-good track on the album. Definitely one of our favorite side tracks, with how reassuring and protective it feels.
As for the end of GOLDEN HOUR: Part.3, ‘Bridge: The Edge of Reality’ is making us question if this is some kind of transition into whatever ATEEZ have planned for the future. What’s next? We’ll have to wait and see; until then, we’ll be forming our theories and questioning everything they do and say, as if it’s a very well-hidden spoiler. We know it won’t be the first time.
ATEEZ is ready for the summer, and so are we with ‘Lemon Drop’ and GOLDEN HOUR: Part.3 taking over our playlists. What’s your favorite track from this alluring EP? Tell us just how much you love ‘Lemon Drop’ on our socials at @thehoneypop, and on our Facebook and Instagram.
