ZEROBASEONE Keep Their Head In The Game With ‘Slam Dunk’

Ever since their debut, ZEROBASEONE has been dominating every aspect of the 5th generation of K-Pop. They’ve continuously released some of the most iconic comebacks of the year. After releasing one of our favorite songs by them earlier this year, ZEROBASEONE is back with the first taste of what’s to be their most important era yet: ‘Slam Dunk.’

‘Slam Dunk’ can only be described with one word: bold. The mixture of EDM and hip-hop with chanting makes it stick out with how loud, apologetic, and full of confidence it is. ZEROBASEONE‘s vocals are versatile and unique in every genre they try, and this is proof of it. The production is absolutely mind-blowing and genius as the song incorporates effects and sounds from a basketball game, like basketballs bouncing and shoes squeaking. ‘Slam Dunk’ really pushes the concept to another level, with switches and changes in melodies that exemplify the ups and downs of a match. But, at its core, ‘Slam Dunk’ is always full of resilience to represent ZEROBASEONE’s ever-growing hard work and teamwork.

And just like with the production, ZEROBASEONE committed to this ‘Slam Dunk’ concept. They didn’t take it lightly at all. The music video for ‘Slam Dunk’ feels just like watching the anime, and is our favorite part of this entire pre-release. They embody the energy and the resilience through this music video. ‘Slam Dunk’ is strong, but it’s only the first song we hear out of this era, all leading to ZEROBASEONE’s first full-length album.

NEVER SAY NEVER

We’ll never forget the masterpieces that ZEROBASEONE have put out before their full comebacks. ‘Doctor! Doctor!’ and ‘SWEAT‘ were some of their most impactful releases. But what makes ‘Slam Dunk’ stand out is that it’s the first song out of ZEROBASEONE’s much-awaited first full-length album, NEVER SAY NEVER.

Scheduled to be released on September 1st, this 10-track full album will be a massive stepping stone for ZEROBASEONE. It’s not only a huge achievement but also a release that is surely set to explore their sound, versatility as a group and vocalists, and set them officially as the group that came in and changed the game – quite literally. With this new era, ZEROBASEONE is also gearing up for their second tour, and first world tour. Needless to say, ‘Slam Dunk’ is truly just the beginning of the most important chapter in ZEROBASEONE’s book.
