For the past month, we’ve all fallen in love and become obsessed with K-POP Demon Hunters, and with an addictive soundtrack, we’ve all been contributing to sealing the honmoon as we try our best to reach Rumi’s high notes and prove to Gwi-Ma that a demon boyband does work as we give the ‘Soda Pop’ dance challenge a go. But it’s not just us who are obsessed, because even K-POP idols are, too! From discussing it on livestreams and chat services to even taking on the songs and dances themselves. Here are just some of the many K-POP idols and groups who are on the KPDH hype as much as we are.
AleXa
For K-POP idol and avid cosplayer AleXa, this movie has been a dream! Our girlie served us not one, but three looks to portray the HUNTR/X girls, and covered ‘How It’s Done,’ the opening song from the movie. She absolutely slayed both looks and vocals, and we are truly obsessed! Not to mention, when cosplaying each character, she really did look like them, absolutely perfecting their looks! Netflix, listen to us: if we’re getting a sequel, please let our girl AleXa be involved in the vocals!
ASTRO’s Sanha
ASTRO’s Sanha is another idol who decided to join the pride. On his recent PRISM: From Y to A Tour in Seoul, he did a dance cover of the iconic Saja Boys’ ‘Soda Pop,’ which had Aroha going wild! And, thankfully, he decided to upload a clip to social media for those of us unlucky enough to attend to get a glimpse, too. And he aced it!
Arden Cho & Cha Eunwoo
This cover is officially Netflix-approved! While we know Arden Cho voiced Rumi in the movie, you may not be aware that she actually didn’t provide her vocals. EJAE did that. So it was pretty exciting when she joined forces with our boy, ASTRO’s Cha Eunwoo (one of the idols who inspired male antagonist Jinu) to deliver this stunning cover on Netflix’s Still Watching. We adore the vocals in the movie, but we can rest happy knowing that ‘Free’ would still sound stunning in the capable hands (or voices) of these two icons.
BTS’s j-hope
Despite his busy schedule for Lollapalooza Berlin, even j-hope ended up joining the pride, vibing to ‘Soda Pop’ backstage! It seems that even the legends of K-POP are absolutely encapsulated with the movie and it’s viral soundtrack, and honestly? We’re here for it. With buzz around more movies and releases coming for K-POP Demon Hunters, we’d be gagged to see a BTS collab with the franchise!
A.C.E’s JUNHEE
‘Your Idol’ is a song that’s essentially meant to put the audience into a trance, and A.C.E’s Junhee did a phenomenal job of that, with this mesmerizing cover. The captivating cover is so well done that it could easily be mistaken for a solo release of his own. Plus, he looks incredible! We just know Gwi-Ma would approve.
IVE’s Yujin
‘Golden’ is to K-POP Demon Hunters what ‘Deviying Gravity’ is to Wicked, and singers, both professional and amateur, across the world are making their attempts to cover this belter of a song. IVE‘s leader, Yujin, was amongst the many to accept this challenge as she effortlessly chased those major high notes, her mellifluous vocals absolutely dominating this iconic number from the movie. Consider the honmoon sealed!
WONHO
WONHO was truly committed to the bit when it came to his cover. As we know, the characters of K-POP Demon Hunters were inspired by a plethora of both K-POP groups and individual idols, and many fans really believe that Abby Saja’s character drew inspiration from buff idols, including WONHO. Seeing these comparisons himself, WONHO took to cosplaying Abby as well as covering both ‘Soda Pop’ and ‘Your Idol.’ Honestly? He absolutely smashed it! Plus, did you peep the cameo he made of another character?
NMIXX’s LILY
Our Aussie queen, NMIXX‘s Lily, is another idol who braved the ‘Golden’ challenge. Posting a snippet of the song in a practice room, she absolutely dominated, hitting those challenging notes. And she makes it look so easy to do, when in reality, most of us are victims of voice cracks when singing the song in our showers. We just know Rumi would be proud!
Stray Kids
Delighting us for STAY week, Stray Kids‘ Bang Chan, Lee Know, Han, Seungmin, and I.N. posted a cute and fun cover of them doing the iconic ‘Soda Pop’ dance challenge, and we feel so fed! Looking emotive and animated, our boys truly delivered and simply had us craving more. Full cover when, boys?
AleXa and Junhee
You thought these two were finished, stunning us with their covers? Think again! Having both delivered their own solo renditions of a HUNTR/X and Saja Boys song, respectively, AleXa and Junhee teamed up to give us this gorgeous, moving performance of ‘Free,’ originally sung by Rumi and Jinu. The pair walks around Seoul at night as they sing their hearts out, truly capturing the emotions of the song’s original scene from the movie. If they were to release this officially, you can count on us to be streaming it in between the original soundtrack!
Big Ocean’s Jiseok
Big Ocean is currently on their Ride The Wave Tour in the US and is having a real blast. And for his solo stage, maknae Jiseok decided to stun PADO with his dance cover of ‘Soda Pop.’ He does such a great job that we think he could become the sixth Saja boy! With his charm, we’d absolutely be lulled into joining the pride and giving our souls to him, no questions asked.
ENHYPEN’s Jay
ENHYPEN’s Jay had us entranced with his cover of ‘Your Idol’ that even Netflix has fallen in love with! Dark and mysterious, this totally encapsulates Saja Boys vibes. With whispers of a potential live-action, we could definitely see Jay fitting into the role of a Saja.
ITZY’s Yeji
ITZY’s Yeji gave us a short but sweet taste of ‘Golden’—but what a bite it was. Covering Rumi’s part of the choreo, she brought that sharp, feline intensity that makes HUNTR/X so captivating. Even in just a few seconds, Yeji proved she could slip into Rumi’s boots like they were made for her. If there’s ever a live-action reboot, we’ve got one casting suggestion ready to go.
BOYNEXTDOOR
BOYNEXTDOOR is another group who have stolen our hearts with a refreshing rendition of ‘Soda Pop.’ Their playful energy and slick choreography are perfect for this song! With each member bringing their own flavour, it’s like the Saja boys passed the torch—or at least the soda bottle—to a new generation.
MAMAMOO’s SOLAR
MAMAMOO’s Solar took on ‘Golden,’ and let’s just say that if HUNTR/X needed another member, it’s her. With powerhouse vocals and the kind of charisma that could make even the fiercest demon hesitate, she didn’t just cover the song—she embodied it. If the girls ever needed backup in battle, Solar’s already got what it takes to seal the honmoon.
BLITZER’s Sya
BLITZERS’ Sya may have only danced to a few seconds of ‘Soda Pop,’ but it was more than enough to catch our attention—and possibly our souls. With the kind of confident smirk that even the Saja boys would be jealous of, Sya turned those 12 seconds into a full-blown summoning. If this is what possession looks like, we’re not fighting it.
GHOST9’s Prince & Jinwoo
Even with the questionable memified sound, GHOST9’s Prince and Jinwoo absolutely smash it out of the park with their take on ‘Soda Pop.’ Whether it was a chaotic inside joke or just Prince being Prince, they still managed to hit every move with sharp precision and unbothered swagger. Honestly, if this is how they hunt demons, the Saja boys better watch their backs—because chaos might just be their ultimate weapon.
KICKFLIP
KICKFLIP’s Kyehoon, Donghwa, and Minje took on ‘Soda Pop’ in a sparkly 12-second burst—and honestly, the bubble filter alone deserves a shoutout. Paired with their crisp moves and playful energy, it felt like a soda commercial directed by Jinu himself. It might’ve been short, but it was fizzy, flirty, and full of charm.
Billlie’s Haram & Suhyeon
Billlie’s Haram and Suhyeon stepped up with a powerful take on ‘Golden,’ and it felt like a recruitment video for HUNTR/X. Their sleek synchronicity and fierce expressions made it clear: if these two ever swapped stages for a supernatural battlefield, they’d fit right in. Consider this a warning to any demons watching—Billlie’s got backup, and they mean business.
We can be rest assured that the honmoon is well and truly sealed thanks to these iconic covers!
