From producing in her bedroom and posting her songs on TikTok to topping charts and Grammy nominations, PinkPantheress has grown to become a top name in the pop music industry and in our pieces here at The Honey POP!. As she continues her rise to becoming a top pop girl, we thought it our duty to let you in on some more PinkPantheress songs for the ultimate pop girl playlist. Beyond her chart-topping songs ‘Boy’s a Liar’ and ‘Pain’, PinkPantheress has a plethora of explosive songs that will instantly lift your mood. Whether you’re looking for a getting ready in the morning song or trying to find some bangers for your going-out playlist, we have you covered.
Girl Like Me
One of our top songs from her new album, Fancy That, ‘Girl Like Me’ has a 2000s punk electro beat to it that hits hard right from the intro and continues through the rest of the song. Taking inspiration from one of her favorites, Pink samples ‘Romeo’ by English artist Basement Jaxx featuring Kele Le Roc, stating in an interview with Mixmag, that it is her favorite sample. Turn up ‘Girl Like Me’ while you get ready in the morning for a surefire mood boost to feel like the coolest girl in your go-to DCOM. The heavy electropop backing track slows down partway through the song, highlighting one of our standout lines: “think of me, you can’t pay for therapy.” Iconic to say the least.
Stateside (with Zara Larsson)
A mystical fairyesque blend of a 2000s aesthetic, a funky rhythm, and Zara Larsson’s insane vocals, what’s not to like? ‘Stateside (with Zara Larsson)’ shows off Zara’s melodic riffs and inspired lyrics detailing how opening up (for another of our faves, Tate McRae) helped her become a headlining artist. We will see her magic on stage as she’s about to embark on her own tour, the Midnight Sun tour, this February. The blending of Zara’s summer girl aesthetics is incorporated into the song as Pink incorporates some fairy glittery-sounding transitions between verses, seemingly to suggest Zara’s magical entrance in the last verse. Overall, this is definitely one of our favorite PinkPantheress songs here at THP!.
Mosquito
‘Mosquito’, off PinkPantheress’s debut album, Heaven Knows, highlights her memorable DnB elements while also leaning into a more nostalgic 90s R&B vibe. The opening little verse starts calm before leading into the beat drop into a lighter breakbeat, fit for music listeners of all genres. We know experimental electronic and hyper-pop music can feel intimidating to the average pop listener, but here Pink offers a softer entry point into the sound. Despite sounding like she’s describing a relationship with a person, PinkPantheress tells Rolling Stone that the song is actually about money spending and her relationship with this spending.
The Aisle
Definitely one of her more effervescent songs, we feel ready to take on the day when we hear ‘The Aisle.’ Another hit off her debut album Heaven Knows, the synthetic DJ beats and little anime-sounding ‘yeahs!’ keep us on our toes and showcase her hyperpop edge. Contrasting its upbeat production, this PinkPantheress song details a toxic relationship and Pink moving through the motions of a relationship with said toxic partner. Fans noticed, too, that she reused some lyrics in the song from the older version of ‘Mosquito’ that was released on TikTok before she rewrote it.
Romeo
The final song on Fancy That, ‘Romeo’, is a mellifluous blend of guitar riffs and her stellar production skills. This PinkPantheress song samples the melody of Basement Jaxx’s 2004 song ‘Good Luck,’ an artist who we can thank for being such a large source of inspiration for Fancy That. Obviously inspired by Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Pink puts her twist on the classic story, assigning her love interest the title of Romeo. Beyond the song, we can see hints of inspiration from the story in her album cover with the red background and fancy crown, both elements shown in most adaptations of the story.
Stars
Last but certainly not least, ‘Stars’ feeds the crazy pop girl fan in us here at THP!. This is PinkPantheress second song that samples Just Jack’s 2007 debut single, ‘Starz in Their Eyes,’ and rather than just sampling the melody as she does in ‘Attracted To You‘, she actually starts the song off with the part of the singing on ‘Starz in Their Eyes’ which continues into the chorus. The song shows us Pink’s masterful production skills and how she seamlessly weaves samples of other songs into her work while maintaining originality.
We hope that if you weren’t previously a PinkPantheress fan, we have now converted you. We know it won’t be long until we see Pink headlining the biggest festivals, and we hope you’ll jump on the fandom train with us before it leaves the station.
