It’s no secret that 2023 has been a year of girl power! Also regarded as the “year of Barbie,” it’s been a woman’s world… and, if you ask us, it couldn’t have come soon enough! So, you may be asking: how can it get any better? Say it with us: “Grammy girl power!” With some of today’s top female artists dominating the category nominations, here are some of our favorites!
‘Flowers’ By Miley Cyrus – Record Of The Year
Miley really brought the heat this year with the release of ‘Flowers’ and her album Endless Summer Vacation. Sunshine in a vinyl record, Miley came dancing into our hearts again with the release of ‘Flowers,’ and we’re sure she’ll be dancing all the way up to the Grammy stage come award night. She won’t have to buy herself flowers anymore, but she can if she wants to!

Midnights By Taylor Swift – Album Of The Year
It wouldn’t be an award show without Blondie, would it? Midnights reached everyone, non-Swifties including. Yes, those exist. But even casual Taylor Swift listeners couldn’t help but find themselves singing, “It’s me. Hi. I’m the problem. It’s me!” With that kind of reach, we think everybody can agree Album of the Year is in the bag.

‘Kill Bill’ By SZA – Song Of The Year
With the release of her album SOS (which was also nominated for Album of the Year,) SZA dominated the radiowaves. Seriously! You couldn’t escape it. Not that we’re complaining. There’s a reason ‘Kill Bill’ is up for Song of the Year – it was everywhere and has been stuck in our heads since the day it dropped. Fingers crossed, SZA can crush the competition… just like she did her ex!

Best New Artists
This is a stacked category! So many of our favorite female artists got Grammy nominations this year; the girl power was strong. With a breathtaking vocalist like Gracie Abrams, an incredible lyricist like Victoria Monét, and an all-around superstar like Ice Spice – we’re rooting for all of them.
‘ICU’ – Coco Jones
There is one, however, who has us literally screaming from the rooftops! Why? Because the one and only Coco Jones is finally getting the recognition that she so rightly deserves. If you’ve been a longtime fan, like many of us here in the hive, then you know Coco doesn’t miss. She’s beautiful, soulful, talented – the list goes on and on! With multiple nominations now under her belt, all we can say is: we see you, Coco! We see you!

chemistry By Kelly Clarkson – Best Pop Vocal Album
Kelly Clarkson has always been that girl! A vocal powerhouse, no one has ever doubted her skills (or her pipes), and that’s why she’s been a staple in our playlists for decades. After reminding the world just how breathtaking her voice is, Kelly is nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album. One more thing we know for sure? She’ll be saying, “Mine!” come Grammy night.

Kelsea may be Rolling Up the Welcome Mat, but the Grammys are rolling out the red carpet for her (and we’re cheering!) Whenever your heart needed a little fixin’, and you felt like a good cry, Kelsea was there! Her music has always been a shining star of hope for her fans, and we’re sure she’ll be shining bright with a Grammy in her hand!
