After shining as a LOONA member and becoming even more of an it girl in Loossemble, YeoJin is here to give her all into her solo career and make us fall in love with her all over again. With her first digital single, we can confidently say she has us once again at her feet.
‘Sugar Talk’
While her digital single has three tracks, the star of the show is ‘Sugar Talk,’ and we can see why. The song has all the aspects to make YeoJin shine, but it’s also the one that subverts our expectations the most. YeoJin may be associated with bright, lively songs due to her high, cute voice, but ‘Sugar Talk’ features a smooth, perfect R&B influence that allows her to showcase new sides of her talent. She debuted as LOONA‘s maknae but has grown into a woman with an abundance of talent and much to share through her art. Indeed, ‘Sugar Talk’ is a much more mature sound for YeoJin, allowing her to explore sides of her vocals she hasn’t been able to before. On top of that, ‘Sugar Talk’ is a smooth, infectious song that’s easy to listen to and will get stuck in your head in the most exquisite way.

With her first digital single, YeoJin was able to explore several sides of her art while still maintaining the unique aura we’ve come to know her for. With three songs, YeoJin already tells us what kind of artist she wants to be. ‘BTW’ gives off exactly the kind of music and energy we would expect from YeoJin. It’s a lovely, bright song that pours love for life out of it. It screams YeoJin’s name with every note.
‘My Valentine’ was technically the first taste we had of this new era for YeoJin, as she released the song with a special video on Valentine’s Day. And it was the perfect song to start this new era. ‘My Valentine’ blends the brightness and fun of ‘BTW’ with the subtle maturity of ‘Sugar Talk,’ creating the perfect embodiment of YeoJin’s talent, charm, and sound as a soloist. From LOONA to Loossemble, YeoJin has always been a shining light full of resilience who didn’t stop working hard: Lv1 puts that at the forefront, and it’s enough to make us the most excited about what this new chapter holds for YeoJin.
