Everyone, this is not a drill! MICO has just dropped a brand-new single, marking the beginning of a new chapter for our favorite alt-pop-rock artist. ‘DREAMBOY’ is the type of song that will have you jumping and dancing along within the first 10 seconds.
If you’ve found yourself in a rut looking for new artists and new music to get into, we can’t recommend MICO enough! While we await more news, here are a couple of our favorite MICO songs to pair with his new release, ‘DREAMBOY’ (which is already climbing the ranks).

‘DREAMBOY’
‘DREAMBOY’ is a track full of energy and emotions dealing with the disconnect between an online relationship turned into real life. The hyperpop production contrasts with the hard-hitting lyrics beautifully. And we love when the music carries a message of its own. By the time you get to the chorus, you’ll be fully transported to a summer block party or a car racing down empty roads with all its windows down. We’ll let your imagination take the reins.
She had this idea of me in her head before we even met. And when I showed up as a real person, it kind of shattered everything.
MICO on ‘DREAMBOY’
MICO also released a visualizer for ‘DREAMBOY,’ introducing us to a place called Stillville. Some very lucky listeners received postcards earlier in the week from this mystery location. And we’re already not prepared for the journey that MICO will take us on in Stillville. No doubt he’ll make us cry, laugh, dream, and everything in between.
‘glhf<3’
We thought we’d pair ‘DREAMBOY’ with two of our favorite MICO songs, the first one being ‘glhf<3.’ Part of his Internet hometown hero era in 2024, ‘glhf<3’ is about a fickle relationship with someone who can up and leave with only a moment’s notice. Once again, the upbeat instrumentals give us a strong contrast with the sardonic lyrics. It’s deceptively honest—an oxymoron—as is any good MICO track.
‘cut my hair’
Another MICO song we think pairs well with ‘DREAMBOY’ is ‘cut my hair.’ A deep cut (see what we did there?) from late 2022, ‘cut my hair’ talks about having regrets after the end of a relationship. You’ve bent over backwards, changing yourself trying to fit someone else’s ideals. This track is as addictive as it is angsty. And we know you at least won’t regret listening, even if you may end up regretting other things.
