An Artist That Always Mesmerizes With His Music
Kihyun’s voice stands out and captivates hearts worldwide, and so does his music. His discography never fails to showcase his striking vocals and personal style. He isn’t chasing trends: he is sharing his passion with all of us through his music. Every solo release (his debut, comebacks, OST releases) makes us think he has outdone himself each time. But he does it in a way that doesn’t overshadow his previous work and rather adds to it and to his charms.
And BORDERLINE continues to do exactly that as it builds on his musical worldview. From a VOYAGER to looking back on his YOUTH, Kihyun has explored concepts and genres from his title tracks to his B-sides. Now, with BORDERLINE, he resumes his bold ventures through a variety of masterpieces. Each song on the album has its own characteristics that make them stand out and leave a mark.
Kihyun’s Vocals? ‘So Good!’
The title track takes on an emotional path. ‘So Good’ strikes with its very beginning and only gets better from there. Kihyun explores uncertainty and freedom in this song, and you can feel it all through his delivery. His voice gives us chills, especially during the chorus and bridge parts. ‘So Good’ allows Kihyun’s vocals to shine, presenting his outstanding musical prowess. And the song’s live performances further complement this statement. Add the fanchant, and you get an experience like no other. You can easily feel the connection between artist and fans!
BORDERLINE, The No-Skip To Fall In Love With
Kihyun’s vocal range is no joke! And that is clearly heard in ‘So Good,’ where he makes flawless transitions between the notes. We love hearing the execution and the emotions poured into the song, and we’re filled with admiration every time.
However, the title track is not the only star on BORDERLINE. The entire album greets us with songs of distinct nature that are simply to fall in love with. And the rock elements in this album? Pure chef’s kiss! Not to mention, we are exposed to the many sides of the singer’s beautiful vocals. We’re saying it: Kihyun’s BORDERLINE is making it hard to decide which song we love the most. So we choose to love on all of them. As one of the songs goes: “You got me howling at the moon / All day, all night / You got me howling,” except in our case, we’re howling along to the entire tracklist!
