Lollapalooza! Day 3 & 4 felt like a dream! Even with weather delays and the infamous Mudpalooza, we made sure to make the most of the weekend. It was so great getting to dance in the pit to all of our favorite artists!
DAY 3
Day 3 had weather delays due to overnight heavy rain and thunderstorms that went through Chicago creating mud puddles throughout the festival. This caused doors to be delayed until 3PM while clean up teams could spread mulch. This didn’t stop us though as we were in line waiting for doors to open!
CORTIS
As soon as doors open and we got through security, it was a race to the T-Mobile Main Stage where CORTIS was set to perform at 3:40PM. Once we arrived to stage (and treaded through the mud a bit) we finally made it in the pit for one of our favorite artists CORTIS. Consisting of MARTIN, JAMES, JUHOON, SEONGHYEON, and KEONHO, we were so excited to see them on such a big stage like T-Mobile. We had the opportunity to see their set during their Lollapalooza Aftershow prior to today, so we couldn’t wait to see what was in store. CORTIS came out with striking high energy performances such as ‘GO!’, ‘REDRED’, and our favorite ‘FaSHioN’ this was a performance that we will never forget. We are so proud of you CORTIS!
We then headed to the press lounge to get a bite to eat, refill our water bottles, and prepare to interview some of our favorite bands at the festival! We first interviewed the band, Easy Honey, consisting of Darby McGlone, Selby Austin, Charlie Holt, and Webster Austin, and they were as sweet as their name sounds! You can watch our interview with Easy Honey here. Next up we had artist Next of Kin, consisting of Lili Hickman, Madison Baker, and Caelin. This trio is based out of Austin, TX and are definitely on their rise of success. You can watch our interview with Next of Kin here.
JENNIE
Once finishing up press, we ran over to the T-Mobile Stage to catch some of her set before heading to the 5SOS Afterparty! Jennie is a South Korean artist who is also a member of KPOP Girl Group BLACKPINK. We have been anticipating to see her since she was announced on the lineup! Jennie came out with such strong stage presence and confidence, we knew we were in for a treat! Performing our favorites such as ‘Mantra’, ‘Less than a Lover‘, and of course ‘like JENNIE‘, we were so happy we could catch her set.
DAY 4
It’s our last day here at Lollapalooza and we are so sad it’s almost over! Luckily, the mud from the previous day had dried up some, but it was still very muddy on the Lollapalooza grounds.
ADÉLA
Our first set of the day was ADÉLA at the T-Mobile Main Stage. We have been following along in ADÉLA’s journey since Dream Academy, and we were so happy that we could finally see her live! ADÉLA is a Solvak pop singer-songwriter who rose to fame after the Netflix show Popstar Academy was released. ADÉLA took the stage starting her Lollapalooza debut with ‘KGB’ and the crowd was so loud and energetic. We absolutely loved the performance and confidence that ADÉLA brings every time she steps on stage. She also performed hits ‘DeathByDevotion’, ‘Ain’t In LA’, and ‘Superscar‘. We even got to hear some of her new unreleased songs as well! We are so proud of ADÉLA’s success and can’t wait to see what’s in store for her next.
We then headed over to press to do portraits with artist Cruz Beckham and also interview artist Surfing for Daisy! Cruz Beckham, apart of Cruz Beckham and The Breakers, is a Retro indie rock / 90s-style Brit-pop band. You can view our exclusive portraits with Cruz here. Surfing for Daisy is a Folk Rock band consisting of members Nick Francis, Mike Bernabei, Steven Filippone, Cam Seidel, Dan DiSantis, and Kathryn Mccarty. TATE MCRAE
Finally after press, we had enough time to run back over to the T-Mobile Main Stage and catch Tate McRae’s headlining set closing out Lollapalooza weekend. Tate McRae is a pop singer, songwriter, and dancer from Calgary. We were so excited to see how Tate’s festival production would differ from her tour. Starting off the night strong, Tate opened her legendary Lollapalooza set with ‘Just Keep Watching’ and the crowd was so loud for her. The pit was so full we actually had to party this one in the back, and we did not regret it. Fans were dancing and listening to Tate all the way to the restrooms that were just to the right of the T-Mobile Stage.
Tate also made sure to include hits ‘2 hands’, ‘TIT FOR TAT’, and ‘Purple lace bra’. We then had the best surprise we could’ve asked for. Tate then announces her next song ‘ANYTHING BUT LOVE‘, a song that she has never performed live before. We definitely let out some tears during this. During her final song ‘Sports car’, Tate disappears for a second but then quickly returns covered in gold paint hinting at her new album. We were so grateful that we could spend our final night dancing and singing along to one of our favorite artist.
