‘鸢 (Vision Wings)’
Serving as the title track of the mini-album, ‘Vision Wings’ immediately grabs attention by blending traditional Chinese guzheng strings with a sharp and modern hip-hop production. We absolutely loved how seamlessly they fused classical Chinese heritage with cutting-edge beats to create such a fresh, bold sound. Coupled with martial-arts-inspired choreography in the music video, this title track sets the stage for WayV’s Vision Wings as a cinematic battle anthem where the group commands the entire room from start to finish.
Plus, as an extra treat for international fans. They also included a full English version of the song at the end of the album so everyone can sing along to every single word!
‘焰光蓝 (Blue Fever)’
If you are a fan of early hip-hop nostalgia, ‘Blue Fever’ is going to be your instant favorite. The track relies on a pumping retro rhythm that had us completely dancing it out in our seats. It brings such an energetic, feel-good hype to the record that our office playlist is guaranteed to have this WayV Vision Wings b-side on repeat for weeks. And when they hit us with “Let me drive you wild,” we truly had zero complaints!
‘满贯 (Count It)’
Hendery and Yangyang team up for ‘Count It.’ An absolute unit flex that kicks off with an old-school, vintage announcement-style intro. While the opening feels unique and unexpected, it gives the entire song so much personality. Delivering that signature experimental NEO flavor that fans crave, the back-and-forth rap flow between the two is so sharp and swagger-filled. ‘Count It’ definitely stands out as a major highlight on Vision Wings.
‘主场 (Icon)’
In the same way, ‘Icon’ lives up to its name in every possible way. The line “Living my life so icon” instantly sets the mood for a track that is pure charisma packed into three minutes. Centered on taking center stage, owning your path, and running toward your goals without looking back, the chorus hits with a wave of pure confidence. Making it one of the most empowering anthems on WayV’s Vision Wings.
‘Afterparty (5 a.m.)’
In contrast, bringing things down to a quieter frequency, ‘Afterparty (5 a.m.)’ features Kun, Ten, and Xiaojun taking on a melancholic, late-night R&B sound. Specifically, the vocal range on display here is really breathtaking. With intricate harmonies and ad-libs that sweep you completely off your feet. Closing out the main tracklist of Vision Wings, the genuine emotion packed into every single note pulls you right into their world.
