When the heat of summertime dies down and the transition into autumn comes, we lean right into RAYE’s discography. It’s one that is filled with inspirational tracks that push us to be motivated through the rest of the year, and tracks that remind us to take a breath and just have fun in life. To get you hyped for the new season, here are six RAYE songs that we’d recommend adding to your fall playlists, or simply, just to re-listen to again.
1. ‘Winter Woman’
Naturally, we’re putting ‘Winter Woman’ at the top of this playlist. Although the autumn season isn’t exactly freezing cold with snowstorms like wintertime, it still provides that nostalgic warm feeling that autumn does. ‘Winter Woman’ is probably our favorite song on RAYE’s This Music May Contain Hope and deserves a shiny gold star on this playlist.
2. ‘The Thrill Is Gone’
The thrill of summertime is gone, but the spooky thrill of fall has arrived! This next song fits perfectly into our playlist just as a crisp in the air is descending. ‘The Thrill Is Gone’ has outlasted RAYE’s impressive discography and continues to be one of our favorites time and time again.
3. ‘Love Of Your Life’
It is cuffing season after all. Now that there is a crisp feeling in the air, it’s time to lock down with someone. Whether you’re in a committed relationship or seeking out a long-time crush, RAYE’s ‘Love Of Your Life’ is essential for any fall playlist. We’re obsessed with RAYE’s dance-music and EDM-forward songs, but ‘Love Of Your Life’ is at the top of the list. A note to DJs everywhere – play this one in the club!
4. ‘The WhatsApp Shakespeare.’
Another standout track from This Music May Contain Hope is ‘The WhatsApp Shakespeare.’ The first time we heard this song, it changed the chemistry in our brains. We’ve truly never heard a song more genius than this one, and it was our favorite on our first album listen. One day we’ll get to hear this song live, but for now, it’s living on our fall playlist along with our other favorite RAYE songs.
5. ‘Waterfall’ With Disclosure
As we said, dance music is the way to our hearts, and this classic RAYE x Disclosure song hits every.single.time. This fall, we want to be dancing in the club wrapped in a giant fur coat, and ‘Waterfall’ just gives off the right energy for the occasion. Even though this might be considered a deep cut for some RAYE fans, we’re always listening to it, and will continue to do so even after the fall season ends.
6. ‘I Will Overcome’
In an Instagram post made in early March, RAYE did say that this song, along with a few others on the tracklist, gives the most Autumnal vibes. We can’t deny mother RAYE’s own choices here, so we’ve included ‘I Will Overcome’ on our official fall playlist.
