We’re back with an Icons Update on some of the biggest names to grace our stages and our playlists! With new music from The Rolling Stones, The Beatles (yes, The Beatles), and a brand new episode of one of our favorite new podcasts, What Would Dolly Do? we have so much to cover! Let’s not hang about, let’s get right to it!
The Beatles Last Song
It’s a family affair, too! In the mini-documentary, not only do Ringo, Paul, and George talk about the song, but they’re joined by Sean Ono Lennon and Peter Jackson. Having started the single as a four-piece, 40 years later Ringo and Paul have finished ‘Now And Then’ with a little help from their friends and are ready to release it to the public. Billed as the last The Beatles song, it already has made such an impact on fans around the world who have loved and grown with the band for so very long. We are listening with open hearts and reflecting on the band’s legacy and how they changed the face of popular music.
Lady Gaga Joins The Rolling Stones On ‘Sweet Sounds Of Heaven’
Lady Gaga has joined The Rolling Stones on their new record Hackney Diamonds, and their song together sure is the ‘Sweet Sounds Of Heaven.’ The album is the band’s first full of new material in 18 years, and they pulled out all the stops and included features with Paul McCartney, Lady Gaga, and Stevie Wonder. There’s a whole lot of star power, and Keith Richards sat down with Matt Wilkinson on Apple Music 1 to talk all about the album and how the collaborations came about.
The thing is, it was such a spontaneous and organic session. We knew that Stevie was coming by and I think Gaga only dropped in because she happened to be working in a studio across the hallway and just walked in, in the middle of the take and started to work her way in. Playing with Stevie is always mind- blowing and I thought that Lady did an incredible job, man. She snaked her way in there and took it over and gave her as good as she got with Mick and it was great fun.

And don’t you worry because Dolly is back, and this time, she’s discussing all about her look and her legacy, both of which are truly iconic if you ask us! We learn about that ‘Jolene’ jumpsuit cover look, her early days of exploring fashion and makeup, and how her mom used to do some sneaky sewing. It’s a really entertaining and empowering episode.
