Just before his recent 25th birthday, Win Metawin popped on stage and took us on a crazy adventure, aka “holidate.” And by us, we mean us… And thousands of other fans from all around the world who either joined live in Bangkok or tuned in online to celebrate with one of the biggest sensations of T-Wind.
The GMMTV artist rose to immediate fame as a BL actor a few years ago and has shown constant growth on screen ever since. After lending his voice to several OSTs, in 2022, he officially debuted as a singer under RISER MUSIC. And you know it, we’ve been there every step. It’s been great seeing how he keeps evolving with each of his releases. And all that dedication and effort indeed showed during the WIN HOLIDATE FANCON.
Win showed a variety of his different sides, both as a performer and as a person. His setlist bringing us all around time and space, reality and imagination, nostalgia and fun. Including hits we all loved while growing up globally, mixed in with some Thai favorites that might have been new for the newer generation of T-POP fans. Giving an extra blow to that T-Wind.
That Opening…Had An Impact
When we think of Win, we usually still have a snowball🐰 pop in mind. But after casually riding onto the stage in a fancy sports car and opening the show by rapping his version of ‘ทะลึ่ง,’ we knew we were up a surprise-filled ride. Then, continuing with covering everyone’s favorite ‘24K Magic,’ Win shone through the golden glitter bombs on stage (oh, he knows how well this song lyrics fit him🙃) before quickly reminding us where our journey started by closing the opening segment with a rearranged version of the 2gether: The Movie OST, ‘Ten Years Later.’
Back To Childhood
And what is a date without sharing some childhood memories? Our holidate’s next stop took us back in time. Starting with a single guitar, Win brought us two Thai classics, ‘ที่ว่าง’ (originally by Pause) and ‘ต้องโทษดาว’ (originally by Bird). Then, the nostalgia continued with an impressive bonding moment between Win and his little brother, Mick Metas. With Mick’s awesome electronic riffs following the hip-hop moments in the beginning, both Opas-iamkajorn boys have now turned into true rock stars on stage. Mick’s solo stage also left us both impressed and yearning for more. We are ready to see and hear more from him later this year as he slowly steps into the entertainment industry as well.
From Enigma To The Runway – Metawin Let’s Go!
Back to the present time, but a world of mystery, in the next segment, Win took us to the world of Enigma. Along with his second special guest, his co-star Prim Chanikarn. They showed us an impressive musical-worthy performance that definitely left Enigma fans in a trance. While in the next segment, Thailand’s global fashion IT boy, from being the star of fashion shows’ first raw, turned the stage into his own runway. Bringing another special guest for a catwalk, we were superhyped to sing and dance along with him and Nene to ‘VACAY.’ We are not moving on from this collaboration between these two and F.HERO. It is an iconic summer hit that will stay with us all seasons and continents.☀️✈️
And while that plane emoji is meant to represent “vacay,” it also perfectly fits our next segment. Which opened with planes flying in 👀 just for Win to fire up the stage with a powerful cover of ‘Believer.’ Then take us on a ‘Night Ride’ with his latest single. With yet another surprise guest!!! When we say we gasped when Badmixy joined the stage, we mean we gasped. And we completely lost it when they performed ‘ฟ้ารักพ่อ (DILF)’ as well. 🤯 This has been our go-to track when we need a pick-up, when we need a confidence boost, when we need some extra energy, when we…it’s just our hype song, okay!? 💥
Honeymoon Destination, Filled With Past And Future Memories
So…a good date should end in a honeymoon, right? Well, we might be moving a bit fast, Win, but no complaints here. 👀 In this segment, the Thai singer brought us some special, both sensual and emotional, moments with the songs ‘Die For You’ and ‘Lost Star’ that may or may not brought some tears to our eyes. And although WIN HOLIDATE FANCON was getting close to an end, Win reassured all fans that this journey was far from its final destination. Finishing up with a full-circle moment by singing Still 2gether OST ‘คนนั้นต้องเป็นเธอ.’
