BIGBANG’s G-Dragon Discharges From Military

After enlisting in February of 2018, we are finally to D-Day of the legendary G-Dragon’s discharge from the military. Serving as an active duty soldier, GD remained relatively quiet throughout his service. G-Dragon, we missed you! 🥺❤️

G-Dragon, affectionately dubbed as the ‘King of KPOP’, has spent his entire career breaking boundaries and crossing lines previously drawn. Debuting in 2006 as BIGBANG’s leader, G-Dragon led the group to many successes, amassing 137 awards and 199 nominations. He also earned 54 awards and 93 nominations as a solo artist.

Despite being asked by the South Korean government to NOT attend, VIPs still gathered in masses for G-Dragon’s long-awaited discharge. Fans all over the world tuned in as minutes ticked away until his discharge at 8AM KST. For the hours leading up to and following, G-Dragon and VIPs dominated the worldwide trends on Twitter, trending the hashtags ‘#ONE_OF_A_KIND_GD’ and ‘#권지용_바람처럼_자유롭게’.

Even though G-Dragon is an impressive 13 years into his insanely successful career, he still took the time to greet his fans who waited so loyally for him.

Joining T.O.P (discharged July 6th), G-Dragon marks the second of four BIGBANG members to complete his mandatory military service. Taeyang and Daesung will be discharged on November 11, 2019, thus finally returning BIGBANG back to their full group.

How psyched are you for BIGBANG’s upcoming return? Do you think BIGBANG will release new music coming up? If so, we guess you could say ‘Fantastic, Baby’.
