Project Revise is the latest addition in our newest series ‘Artist On The Rise’ at The Honey Pop where we bring you the latest deets on the newest, brightest and best that the music industry has to offer. Today, we are introducing you to Project Revise who are serving us another slice of their pop-punk pie to all you pop punksters out there with their latest single ‘Hold Your Ground’. Check out the inside scoop!
New Single: When is it out? Where can we stream it?
‘Hold Your Ground’ by Project Revise is available to buy and stream everywhere on all the streaming platforms such as YouTube, Apple Music, Spotify, etc.
What are your main musical influences?
We’re massively inspired by punk rock bands of the early 2000s generation – so artists such as Sum 41, Blink 182, Less Than Jake and Goldfinger. We have an endless number of influences between us though, spanning various other genres too.
Who is on the line-up of your dream festival?
Blink 182, Sum 41, New Found Glory, Less Than Jake, Goldfinger, Foo Fighters, Bowling For Soup, The Ataris, Four Year Strong.
What does a typical day in the studio look like for you?
Firstly, I record a rough guitar guide track. The drums are then recorded against this, followed by bass – and then (1 or 2) electric guitar tracks. If we’re aiming to record one song on that day, we will aim to record both vocal parts later on in the afternoon too.
What’s one piece of advice you’ve been given that you’d like to pass onto others?
Sounds very obvious, but: Never give up. You don’t stand a chance of achieving the majority of your goals unless you keep on working for them. This applies to every aspect of life.
Are you heading out on tour soon?
We’ll be playing as many shows as we can as soon as the pandemic allows for it!
How long have you been together?
Pretty much four years ago! We were all in bands previously together, but this project (excuse the pun), Project Revise, kicked off at the start of 2017.
What is the funniest thing to have ever happened to you on tour?
Our drummer Dave using his artistic talents to draw a character, aptly named “Rock c**k” on a helium-filled balloon at a show. The funniest part of this was that due to the air circulation in the room, the balloon kept attacking us on stage throughout all of our set!
Dinner with one person dead or alive? Who and why?
John Feldmann. He is one of my punk rock heroes, and along with creating some amazing songs he’s also helped shape the careers of many other people who inspire me out there.
