We are back again with another interview! This time we are talking to Spanish influencer and artist, Linards Zarins about his start in music, his recent releases, and being on his home country’s The X Factor.
‘Dusk Till Dawn’ is Linards’ new single, and we are absolutely loving it at THP HQ! Not only is the song super catchy, but the music video is also stunning. The music video was filmed in three locations in Spain, and we were in awe of how beautiful the sights were. We want to hop on a plane right now and go visit!
And without further ado, let’s get into the THP Exclusive Interview with Linards Zarins. We have a feeling you are going to fall in love with him, just like we have!
Could you tell us and our readers a little bit about yourself?
I’m a singer and songwriter, I’m coming from Latvia, but currently, I live in Spain. I’m 25 years old and I consider myself an easy-going, simple person. In my free time, I love to play volleyball, swim, and spend time with my friends — they are my major support. Oh, and I perfect my skills in Spanish.
You were a contestant on your home country’s The X Factor. What was the experience like for you?
It was a transforming experience from which I grew and learned a lot — it made me stronger and gave lessons to never give up, as well as encouraged me to move forward in my career and life.
Would you change anything in your music career thus far?
I think no because everything I did and went through has made me stronger and got me to where I am right now.
You have amassed over one million followers on Instagram, what has the support been like for your new music?
To be honest, I was very surprised by the reaction and support of the people who listen to my music. I was not expecting such overwhelming support. It feels so good. I am very grateful and happy about it. Many have shared my posts.
Your song ‘Good Thing’ went to the top of the New Music Weekly (US) Top 40 Singles chart after its release, how did you react to the news, and were you shocked at how quickly it rose on the charts?
It was a little bit crazy, those numbers, so many people voted for my song! The reality is that I was very emotional. Not just that, I thought that I need to participate in the New Music Weekly annual contest to learn new things, but to my surprise, I won the Breakthrough Artist of the Year award. That was wow!
‘I Miss You,’ another single, also reached the top of the charts. Do you have a favorite memory of when you found out how well the song was being received?
I remember I was with my family on a vacation in Germany when I found out that the second song ‘I Miss You’ was number one on digital singles charts. At that moment I realized that people really like my music. That was the second song I put out then and I was full of emotions and at the same time very grateful to my fans.
You’ve recently released your song, ‘Dusk Till Dawn,’ and it is doing extremely well on YouTube. Do you have any advice for newer artists?
Something I always say — Never suppress your talent, always reach for your best, aim higher, because one day you yourself could be surprised by your talent and success. It’s not just your talent, it’s talent plus really hard work and your choice not to give up at the first failure. Use your failures as your learning lesson to come out stronger. And don’t be afraid to work together with other talented people. You will learn a lot from them.
The visuals for ‘Dusk Till Dawn’ are stunning. What was it like shooting there and do you have a favorite part of the video?
Yes, the video is really stunning. I’m really thankful to the Feed The Wolf video recording team and its director Taylor Randall. It’s filmed in southern Spain, in three different locations — in Javea, Denia, and Altea. That was an incredible experience. If I could put everything in just two words it would be — incredible and hot!!!! Being there, shooting the video with my family and friends beside me was something amazing. My favorite part of the video is 0:00–3:24 (from the beginning till the end).
As you mentioned, Taylor Randall (@tjr_randall) from Feed The Wolf LA directed the music video for ‘Dusk Till Dawn.’ How important was it for you to find a director and production team that could create what you envisioned?
‘Dusk Till Dawn’ is my favorite single so far, based on that I was looking for the same quality for visuals. I remember one day after ‘Good Thing’ started to chart on radios across the US I received a message on my Instagram from Taylor and his team, they wanted to work with me on my upcoming music videos. I went through some other work they have done and I was impressed, especially working with a team that has been working with major artists, such as Nicki Minaj, Bad Bunny, Cardi B, Big Sean, and others.
How important has social media been for your career?
In one word — huge! Thanks to all of the social media that exists today, I had an opportunity to be heard and to share my music with the world. Social media has played a big role since day one. I’ve seen my songs popping up even in Asian playlists. Totally unexpected, but a pleasant surprise.
The support we have seen from your fans on social media is incredible. Is there anything you would like to say to them?
I’m so grateful to all of my fans. I feel indebted because of so many wonderful people like you, even more people can learn about my music. You are the ones that motivate me to record new songs, I love you!
What can we expect from future Linards?
I have great things prepared, and I can’t wait when you will hear them.
We are so happy that we got to speak to Linards all about his start in music and his recent success! We have a feeling we are going to be seeing even more from him in the next few months. Be sure to stream his new single, ‘Dusk Till Dawn’ here!
