‘Maybe My Soulmate Died,’ Or Maybe It’s iamnotshane

Hopeless romantics, unite! We’re stepping into dreamland with the latest alt-pop banger from iamnotshane, ‘Maybe My Soulmate Died,’ which touches on those moments where you feel like you could’ve met the person you’re meant to be with ages ago and missed the chance to bond with them.

From the very first moment, this song called us out while simultaneously making us feel less alone in our…loneliness. And those harmonies on the chorus are immaculate! If you’re “not the type to take a risk,” this track will make you feel more than understood in the relationship department.

‘Maybe My Soulmate Died’ is about missed connections and the anxiety of being single. The plausibility that you missed out on experiencing your one true love because you didn’t step out of your comfort zone and take a risk.

In a way, ‘Maybe My Soulmate Died’ reminds us of Meghan Trainor’s aptly-named jam ‘Hopeless Romantic,’ which also touches on the fear of never meeting your soulmate. Of course, Meghan is married to Daryl Sabara now with an adorable son, so we’re sure there’s hope for us and iamnotshane!

But anyway, multi-stan ramblings aside, back to Shane and ‘Maybe My Soulmate Died.’ This song has such a fun energy that almost makes it thrilling to be single, even though there are definitely a few downsides. Our time to find our soulmates will come, but for now, we have music to fulfill our hearts.
