NewJeans Are Looking For Your ‘Attention’

The new girl group that has surprised everyone, NewJeans, is here to shake up K-Pop!

So if you were like us, and basically every other K-Pop stan, you know NewJeans’ debut got dropped on us out of nowhere, and no one really had any time to prepare. But don’t you worry because we’re here to break down what you need to know!

The Stars Of The Show

The group consists of five members, Minji, Hanni, Hyein, Haerin, and Danielle. We will for sure be learning about the members with each new release, so just wait and see. We here at THP are very optimistic and always hope for the best with new groups, but something just stands out about NewJeans. It might be that their concept is all wrapped up in a perfect bow. With the process starting in 2019, there was obviously a lot of planning that went into everything about the group, and it really shows!

May We Please Have Your ‘Attention’

Okay, so ADOR, aka All Doors One Room, had tweeted on June 30th that their first Girl Group was finally going to debut, and content would be posted July 22nd, 2022. And then they just dipped, yeah! But then, as they promised, their new girl group NewJeans debuted with their first title track, ‘Attention.’ And they 100% grabbed everyone’s attention.

Let’s first talk about the track itself, y’all…We were blown away! NewJeans tracks are said to not sound like what you usually hear when it comes to K-POP, and they were right. It was a new sound no one was expecting. Twitter literally went into shock from the surprising debut and the tracks that later followed. We think that the tracks would be enjoyed by people outside of the K-Popcircle, especially if you love some of the older R&B, girl group sounds. And they have a pretty cool Y2K look. The MV btw is cute and is the first time we get to see the girls’ dancing abilities, which they have a lot of.

We also got the performance video showing off the choreo. And we honestly can’t get enough of it and how much talent the girls showcase. We can only imagine how much energy they’ll put into live performances!

We still have two more title tracks, and it’s b-sides coming. Yes, you read that right, three. ‘Attention,’ ‘Hype Boy,’ and ‘Cookie’ are our title tracks, while ‘Hurt’ is their only b-side. And y’all for ‘Hype Boy,’ not only did we get the official MV but member-specific MV’s as well, which we recommend watching, especially if you want to know who’s who.

We also recently got the MV for ‘Hurt,’ their b-side, which has a different vibe from the others we’ve heard, but it’s still excellent! They picked these tracks so perfectly!

Y’all thought we were done?

So, ADOR has also released an app called Phoning, which is produced under Weverse inc. Where you can stay up to date with everything NewJeans, they post pictures and messages, and it even has a calendar! So because NewJeans is always releasing new content, make sure to download the app!

So if you’re wondering why everything is releasing so fast? Well, their first EP, New Jeans, is set for release August 1st. You have three versions of the album to choose from, there is the ‘Weverse Version,’ ‘Bluebook,’ and the freaking ‘bag’ version! Whoever came up with that has such a big brain. But you better act fast because some of them are limited. You can get them here.

We can’t tell you how excited we are for their first EP. The group has shown a lot of star power, and as many people have said, it’s like a breath of fresh air. And to think they just debuted!
