‘Don’t It Feel Good’ That We Have A New Mt. Joy Album?

Easily, Mt. Joy is one of the best bands making music at the moment, and if you aren’t already in that mindset, allow Orange Blood to change your mind! Orange Blood, Mt. Joy’s third studio album, complete with ten tracks, is an indie-rock lover’s dream. There is not a single track on Orange Blood that doesn’t feel expertly crafted, and like a labor of love, this level of artistry is absolutely insane.

In celebration of the release of Orange Blood, we wanted to break down our five favorite tracks with you all, and yes, this was near impossible to narrow it down.

‘Don’t It Feel Good’

We included ‘Don’t It Feel Good’ in the title of this article, so obviously it’s a favorite of ours. ‘Don’t It Feel Good’ is a masterclass in making indie-rock music, think bands like Wallows, meets Bon Iver, and you’re almost at how kicka** Mt. Joy’s sound on this record is.

‘Evergreen’

Let’s face it, if The Office is involved, we’re involved. When we saw that Mt. Joy had given us the surprise of Creed Bratton in the ‘Evergreen’ music video, we knew this would be a standout moment for us from the Orange Blood era!

‘Lemon Tree’

‘Lemon Tree’ is quite honestly perfect. This track is subtlety sun-soaked, which is a skill Mt. Joy has perfected. Not overly upbeat, and still a soft-rock-indie song, but feels like summer.

We simply can’t wait to hear ‘Lemon Tree’ live. We will be transported to a completely different world.

‘Bathroom Light’

‘Bathroom Light’ makes for what is lyrically one of our favorite songs from Orange Blood. Such a beautifully crafted track, that we can already tell we’re going to be swaying to possibly shedding a tear or two at the live show!

‘Johnson Song’

We had to close this out with ‘Johnson Song,’ it would have been a disservice to not include this track. ‘Johnson Song’ puts us in the best mood and makes us want to scream along with every word.
