Olivia O’Brien will release her next micromixtape titled A Means To An End on November 18th, and she has dropped her latest single, ‘Never Be The One,’ to celebrate it! We absolutely love this incredible song, and we keep listening to it on repeat! Let’s go deeper into its meaning, shall we?
‘Never Be The One’ brings out the fun side of those situations in which we’ve almost been romantically involved with someone. There’s nothing set in stone, but we’re still making memories with each other without putting labels on the relationship. Olivia has written this song to compile those moments she has lived with that almost special someone, and it’s a bop!
The idea that knowing you’ll never actually date someone or be with them in a real way doesn’t have to be sad… Sometimes it’s nice to know that you’re just having fun in the moment and there’s no pressure to be anything else.

This single truly fits its intent, and we can’t stop dancing to it! Even though being stuck in these situations sometimes sucks, Olivia has done an amazing job at appreciating those memories. She has explained some of the verses on her TikTok: from going across the world to meet each other to sharing her favorite musicians. We love how sincere she is while sharing her personal stories in this song!
