Tracks to Add to Your Playlist If You Love ‘No Explanations’

We don’t need a reason to talk about the latest collaboration between Elephante, Stephanie Poetri, and Zhang Yanqi, because it’s been on replay ever since its release. ‘No Explanations’ is a pop and EDM anthem that combines DJ Elephante’s signature production style with Indonesian singer-songwriter Stephanie Poetri, and upcoming Chinese star Zhang Yanqi’s vocals. This collaboration truly took us global and isn’t it obvious we are left wanting more? That’s why we’re presenting tracks from each collaborator to add to your playlist if you love ‘No Explanations.’

‘No Explanations’

Let’s start with taking a closer look at ‘No Explanations’ and why it should take the top spot on your springtime playlist. The infectious track celebrates the unspoken connection and chemistry between two people. This disco-influenced beat paired with smooth vocals makes it a fun and uplifting song that showcases each collaborator’s individual talent in a cohesive way. The infectious hook “isn’t it obvious” made it very obvious why we love the song.

The lyrics speak about how love is a certain feeling and doesn’t need justification. It’s a shared emotion and sums up exactly how we feel listening to ‘No Expectations.’ Particularly, we love the pairing of Stephanie’s crisp tone with Zhang Yanqi’s lower register. Combined they carry the track with layered harmonies and it feels like a conversation. Because the lyrics are vulnerable yet full of fun, we feel extremely content after listening.

‘No Explanations’ is a song about first love – that giddy, unapologetic feeling of falling for someone, and hoping that they’re doing the same for you. It’s a feel good, synthy BOP

Tim Wu, better known as Elephante, is identified by his upbeat and melodic EDM tracks. If you like ‘No Explanations’ you should definitely check our ‘Troubled’ featuring Deb’s Daughter. This song has a similar catchy hook and production style, it’s a great example of Elephante’s signature style. Additionally, ‘Glass Mansion’ featuring Nevve has a more atmospheric and dreamy feel to it which makes it impossible not to like. And if that’s simply not enough of Elephante (and we don’t blame you) you can catch these songs within his Heavy Glow Tour or within many music festivals this summer.
