Everyone stop what you’re doing right this second, PVRIS has a new song for us to obsess over! We know what you’re thinking, another one?! And you’re absolutely correct, another flawless masterpiece to fixate on! ‘LOVE IS A…’ is giving everything we’ve come to expect from a PVRIS track, and also in PVRIS fashion, so much more.
Inspired by the French saying, ‘la petite mort’ which means “little death,” this is a narrative we can follow along with possibly way too well. Love is a lot of things, but one thing it oftentimes feels like is in fact a murder. We simply couldn’t agree more. Embracing their way with sultry vocals and smooth pop musicality, this track is a head-bobbing, hip-shaking, on-repeat anthem. Seeing this side of PVRIS’s musicianship after the prior releases from Evergreen has us ready to go on record that this is going to be PVRIS’s best record to date!
PVRIS Is A ‘GODDESS’
Speaking of the prior releases from Evergreen, it’s not like we we’re able to move past those, to begin with! A notable favorite of ours, ‘ANYWHERE BUT HERE/ANIMAL’ showed us sides to PVRIS we are honored to be trusted with. ‘ANYWHERE BUT HERE’ offers a soulful yearning to be someone new. The feeling of wanting to escape your current reality to settle into a new one that hopefully brings the peace and comfort you’re looking for.
Following the soft and sultry ‘ANYWHERE BUT HERE’ with ‘ANIMAL’ was simply a powerhouse move, if we do say so ourselves. It’s a raging synth-alt-pop anthem of being over the world of fame. Now we might not be able to relate to PVRIS’s exact level of fame, but we know what’s it like to have a big eye on you at all times here at THP. So not only does this song help us get our rage out at the gym, but it makes us feel beyond seen!
What are you most excited about with the anticipated release of Evergreen on July 14th?
